Part 0 to How the Infection Works Biologically
The Infeccion is a special form of the Infection only available to selected characters. These include and are not limited to:
Pickle Rick
Lisa
Gurty
Piggy.exe
GoldPiggy
Bakari
Mari
Frostiggy
Gryffyn
Mr. Bliss
Meisery
The Infeccion is able to possess nonliving and inanimate objects (Note that while I will say inanimate objects a lot. I am actually referring to uninfected or uninfectable characters possessing Infected-like qualities). Some suggest that the Infeccion is present within the Trader, who is known to be ignored by regular Infected. So how does this Infeccion work?
The Infeccion doesn’t travel through the bloodstream, nervous system, or anything organic or made of living cells, because these are typically not present in inanimate objects. Instead, it travels through electrical pulse. Electric pulse is present in and around these inanimate and animate objects. These electrical fields can be altered- with enough energy, these can effectively “move” the actual objects themselves - let me explain.
Electrical pulse is a force, and a force can move objects. When executed properly, the alteration of these electrical fields can literally control an inanimate object and make it appear as if it’s moving on its own. So whoever is controlling the Infeccion (likely TÍO) can regulate electrical fields (alter their frequencies), while TIO, who controls the Infection, can regulate the nervous system (control neurons and neural signals).
Bonus: the Infeccion can affect living creatures as well.

Part 6 to How the Infection Works Biologically
Let's cut down to the basics. Glenn's right arm is completely skinned down to the bone and everything else is replaced by crystals. His tail is also completely made of crystal. The right half of his face is replaced by crystals and covering his flesh and bones. Finally, a living monster made of goo is sharing a symbiotic relationship with him. Will Glenn survive all this upon being cured?
What can he survive without?
He doesn't need his tail.
He can live with his right arm amputated.
He needs skin to protect his skull.
We have no idea anything about the biology of the Umbra living inside of him.
So let's say Glenn is cured. Can he live the way he is? No, because allowing crystals to grow on your skin will lead to a MULTITUDE of bacterial and circulatory issues. Not to mention the reactivation of Glenn's nervous system and pain receptors. He will have to be immediately rushed to the E.R. and anesthetized, then his tail and right arm will have to be amputated. Realistically he could still live with them attached to his body but this will encourage toxins, bacteria, fungi, and complications related to crystal GROWTH.
His face is an issue, however. If we look back at Part 4 (will Archie Survive being Cured?), we can see that it's possible to survive with your skull exposed. The crystals will have to be carefully surgically removed as to not damage his delicate skin. He will require immediate head bandaging and hospital care and inspection until his skin begins to grow back. However, this is an extremely lengthy process and still requires regular care and inspection.
His right eye. Good gosh, what happened to him?? Since we know that Archie will be able to survive without his eye, Glenn may have to endure the same process if that monstrous cataract on his right eye is caused by or related to his crystallization. His body will have to be additional inspected several times for any signs or effects of crystal growth that may remain.
The Umbra. Will Glenn survive the Umbra creature? What even is that? We know that this creature is engaging in a symbiotic relationship with Glenn, but it's impossible to tell the benefits or side effects. What we do know is that this is a biological organism that can be destroyed. It's not an illusion because it can interact with the real world, and it can be defeated like Sentinel and Ombra.
So the doctors will have to figure out how to remove this creature from Glenn's body and then hit it with a stick until it stops moving. Otherwise, they'll have to allow it to continue living inside his body...
The Infection prevents the sensation of pain - Umbra may cause pain, whether major or minor, to Glenn, upon being administered the Cure.
The Infection regulates the transmit of nervous signals. This is how the virus is able to control your body.
Umbra needs a nervous system of some sort, whether physical or not, to be able to be controlled.
Once the virus'effects on Glenn's body have been reversed, his immune system will not recognize Umbra and treat it as a foreign object.
With all this information in mind, there are four likely outcomes:
Glenn doesn't survive being cured. Let's hope his gravestone has a link to Crystallized while we're at it.
Umbra is "deactivated" when Glenn is cured, due to being unable to feed off of the Infection. The immune system will then finish it off.
The immune system is boosted with medication, and is able to slowly destroy the foreign object inhabiting Glenn's body. Due to the inky nature of Umbra, it's likely that its cells are scattered throughout his entire body.
Umbra is surgically removed and beat with a stick until it stops moving. Good luck getting it out.
Glenn may survive being cured, and it comes with a heavy price. There is one optimal route that will most likely take place should Glenn be cured:
Glenn is immediately anesthetized and then rushed to the E.R.
Next, the crystallization on his face will have to be slowly and carefully removed by expert surgeons that will have to avoid disrupting his skull or muscle tissue.
After his head is THOROUGHLY inspected via x-ray and necessary surgery for remaining crystals, his head will be bandaged and rested to heal.
His right eye will be taken care of, whether a matter of crystal or simply eye damage. Either way, his eye will have to be removed or repaired, then bandaged with the rest of his head.
His right arm and tail will have to be amputated.
Then the rest of his body will be examined for any crystal shards or remnants, which will be carefully removed.
Since the Infection has left his system, Umbra will need a new host to survive. If we're lucky, TIO will make it disappear, but if we're not, then Glenn will have to rely on his immune system to remove the creature.
Doctors will regularly vaccinate Glenn (hopefully with consent) to power the antibodies required to fight off the foreign organism residing within Glenn's body. His blood, cells, brain, and hormones will focus their attention on executing this behemoth of a task.
Once the doctors have provided the antibodies and stimulants required to defeat Umbra, any creature remains will be surgically extracted.
Glenn has seen some ####. The doctors allow him to rest and tend regularly to his bandages and health.
So yes, Glenn can survive being cured. It will be an extremely lengthy and difficult process, but it's definitely possible given the time, skill, and preparation.
Bonus: Glenn will likely experience related complications down the line. At least he's developed immunity to Umbras.

Part 5 to How the Infection Works Biologically
As we all know, the Infection travels through the bloodstream, which requires the heart to function. No (working) heart? No Infection. So how does this mean a dead pig like Zompiggy herself can work "completely biologically"?
So let's begin with background information. Zompiggy is a dead corpse, whose flesh is rotting and skull is exposed.
She carries around the skeleton arm of who-knows-who to attack people.
She has a glowing Infected eye and displays all traits of an Infected individual.
Despite her body being able to function, none of her wounds are healing.
She has a very distinctive and concerningly loud heartbeat sound.
This is all the evidence we need to prove that Zompiggy is completely biologically possible. How is that, you ask? It's actually really simple. You see, in certain animals, the heart can continue to beat for a long time after death. This applies to humans as well, although the heart does not continue to beat too long after death in most cases. It's important to note I am NOT saying that Zompiggy's heart continued to beat while she was decaying. Edit: she hasn't begun decaying yet.
So let me explain what happened:
Zompiggy died. Let's hope it wasn't too tragic.
The Infection entered her bloodstream after she had already died and lost consciousness.
The heart was still pumping. The Infection was able to travel to her brain, and you probably know the rest. (If you don't, check out the rest of this series)
The brain was still firing off its last signals, so the Infection was able to filter them and easily initiate Nervous System Takeover™️.
Due to the Infection's programing, it knew to take control of the ocular system, find a nearby weapon, and begin searching for uninfected targets as usual. To the virus, Zompiggy is just another host.
Now you're probably wondering two things. 1. How is Zompiggy decaying now if she wasn't decaying when the Infection entered her body? 2. Why is the heartbeat so loud? Why is her heart still beating anyway?
1. Remember how mitosis doesn't work for Infected individuals? The cell cycle is completely paused. All energy used to power the cell cycle is reused for powering other, "more important" biological mechanisms (a skull emoji is appropriate right now 💀). Only required cells are allowed to continue dividing. Since mitosis is largely ignored elsewhere, that means the body won't grow or heal any wounds.
Since Zompiggy is already dead, her body is decaying. The Infection couldn't care less, so it doesn't devote any of its energy to healing those sounds. She hasn't bled to "death" because the blood is still in control, as the virus is programmed to allow for blood clotting at injury sites.
2. Zompiggy needs it. She needs her heart. The Infection is programmed to keep the body running, and that means keeping the heart alive. It needs the heart to pump oxygen to the cells in the body, as the host will die without it. Since her heart is in a constant state of failing and restarting, the virus allows it to pump at the same rate as it normally does - except with WAY more force than normally required.
You're probably wondering, "why does the Infection want to keep the host alive if Zompiggy is already dead?" You see, the Infection doesn't know that its host is actually a dead organism. It displays the qualities of life, so therefore, the virus must be controlling a living host. Right?
Let's clear everything up:
Zompiggy died but her heart continued to beat. The virus entered her body before the heart stopped.
The virus took over her body in the same way that it takes over an ordinary Infected's body.
Her body continues to decay after death and the Infection prevents mitosis from repairing her.
The virus needs her heart to stay alive. It pumps at a normal rate but with much greater force than normal.
Zompiggy is literally brain dead. The only signals coming in and out of the brain are the ones being fired from the Nervous System by the Infection.
The virus has no idea that the brain is dead and unable to send any signals back through its neurons, but since the virus regulates this activity, it would be unaffected otherwise.
The virus believes Zompiggy is a living, breathing host.
When Zompiggy's heart finally decays, though, the virus will die without a working host.
Bonus: If you die while Infected, the virus won't save you. It's just not able to. But because Zompiggy didn't die from any known wounds, the virus was able to restart her heart and allow her to walk again.
Coming soon: Will Glenn survive being cured? Can you prevent yourself from "turning" if you've been attacked by an Infected?

Part 4 to How the Infection Works Biologically
Firstly, let's put down what we know:
The Infection prevents you from feeling pain.
The Infection allows blood to clot around damaged tissues, preventing blood loss.
However, the Infection prevents mitosis from regenerating wounds or damaged tissues.
The Infection makes sure you stay alive.
Once cured, all these symptoms and benefits are reversed back to the way they were before you became Infected.
So. The virus keeps you alive by allowing blood to clot around your wounds so you don't die from blood loss. However, it doesn't allow mitosis to actually repair those damaged tissues. Archie's skull hasn't been repaired by mitosis and hasn't been infected (lowercase "i" to distinguish the Infection from regular infections).
Once cured, his physical condition will not change, but his cells will begin trying to repair his damaged tissues. The only problem is that this will take a really long time and Archie will probably die from a skull infection before his body can repair it. Now, it is possible to survive with your skull exposed, even your brain exposed. But infections exist - if your unprotected bones and organs aren't being shielded by your skin, then what's shielding them from being attacked by other nasty things?
This means Archie needs treatment pronto. His head will have to be bandaged and he will, obviously, have no way of growing his right eye back. Maybe he'll suit an eyepatch? Archie will need regular care and examinations to ensure that his skin is properly healing and hasn't been damaged or infected. Unfortunately, he will have to wait for his skin to heal before he can risk working on the Medora again - if he'll ever be allowed to work ever again.
Pain. How does he bear the pain? Ask the same question to other victims of skull exposure - the pain can be anesthetized, and it dissipates after the body learns to accept it. Archie has been Infected for quite some time, and since the Infection already acts as an anesthetic, the pain will have dissipated by the time he drinks the cure.
In summary, yes, Archie can survive being cured, as long as he receives proper care and treatment.
Blood clotting while Infected has prevented him from bleeding to death.
The Infection has anesthetized his pain and he will not feel it even upon being cured.
He will have to be immediately hospitalized and taken care of.
His face will have to be bandaged and gently inspected.
He will have to receive regular care and inspections to ensure his skull does not become infected (by ordinary bacteria, not The Infection virus).
He will have to remain in the hospital to encourage skin regeneration over his exposed skull.
Yes, Archie has a high chance of surviving after being cured.
Bonus: The Infection prevents his skull from being infected by ordinary bacteria, which is why such infections only matter upon being cured.

Part 69
When you get attacc, your body fails to protecc. Infeccion goes brrr and you start to Infecc. But first the Infeccion needs to AFK in order to find the cheat codes offline for hacking into your body. Once it’s found the cheat codes, you’re officially Infected and the RGB values of your eyes will change depending on your amount of plot armor.
Protips to increase your chances of plot armor:
Regularly say things like “What could go wrong?” Or “What’s the worst that could possibly happen?”
Either be a perfect protagonist or a perfect antagonist. Anywhere in between is less likely to have plot armor.
Break the fourth wall occasionally. Characters who do that are much much more likely to have plot armor
Once you’re Infected, your body will want to Infecc other people. You will be unable to control yourself but do not worry, the Infeccion will protecc while you attacc. Just close your eyes and it will all be over in no time™️.
Bonus: The Infected can’t manually close their eyes
Coming Soon: How the Infeccion proteccs and attaccs.
HE ATTACC. HE PROTECC. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, HE INFECC
Part 3 to How the Infection Works Biologically
So we know exactly how the Infection works and the biological process behind it. But how is the Player immune to it? This one will surprise you.
Firstly, we know that once the virus has traveled through your bloodstream, it will reach your brain, where it's free to take over your nervous system and eyes. We know that the Player never experienced symptoms of the Infection (as in aggressive or uncontrolled behavior, or glowing colored eyes). When they felt sick in the School sewers, we already know that TIO had deliberately made that happen, resulting in them hallucinating Doggy. So we know that the virus was never able to enter the Player's brain to take control of the nervous system. Or was it?
Why? The answer... is chocolate. Yes. Let me explain -
Humans have evolved to be able to consume chocolate in mass quantities, while almost every other animal will die or experience sickness from poisoning after consumption, even in small amounts.
This is because humans are able to metabolize theobromine and caffeine. Almost every other animal is unable to metabolize these substances as effectively as we can, if at all.
Chocolate contains flavonols. And what's so special about them? They can cross the blood-brain barrier, the culprit of the Player's immunity to the Infection.
The blood-brain barrier is the brain's wall of protection from harmful substances in the blood. The Infection is able to permeate the blood-brain barrier, which is why it is able to enter the brain and control your nervous system in the first place.
Remember how the virus prioritizes nervous system takeover, and then takes over the ocular system after paralysis is complete? You see, the Infection was never able to analyze the nervous signals being sent through the Player's body - it just decided not to function in that area. But why? Because of those good ol' flavonols.
Flavonols protect your neurons and are actually known to reduce your risk of cognitive decline. As soon as the Infection permeated the Player's blood-brain barrier, the flavonols we're able to preserve the Player's neurons and minimalize any possible damage or disruption to the brain. Thanks to chocolate and being human, the Player will be safe from the Infection.
Remember - Mr. P and Bunny noticed "There were signs of the Infection within you..." and remember that Hospital took place approximately four weeks after House. This means that the Infection remained within the Player's body during all that time. What did this do? It created natural immunity. Now the Player is actually permanently immune to the Infection, because the body never recognized it as a threat due to the virus' natural tendencies to evade being targeted as a threat, and also because it still has never harmed the Player.
Good ol' chocolate. Take 100% dark chocolate for maximum chances of surviving.
Bonus: This does not mean that every human will be immune to the Infection.
Coming soon: Will Archie survive being cured? Can you prevent yourself from "turning" if you've been attacked by an Infected?

Do you have any theories or ideas? Let me know! Also tell me if you'd like to be pinged for the next one!
Part 2 to How the Infection Works Biologically
So we already know that the Infection travels through the bloodstream, enters the brain and uses brain stimuli to determine your eye color. It takes complete control over your nervous system, essentially paralyzing you… until it starts to take control of your entire body.
But, more specifically, what is the experience like? As soon as you’re attacked, you still have so much time until the virus actually starts to take effect, roughly an hour or two. So let’s begin with the bloodstream- it takes the heart less than one minute to pump blood to every cell in the body. That means you only have so many seconds until the Infection has already reached your brain. Your Infected pupil color change happens suddenly, but note that it happens after paralysis.
So, paralysis is the Infection’s first objective. It has to stop the nervous system from sending pain signals and receiving voluntary motor signals (voluntary movement). The Infected can’t speak or control their bodies because the nervous system is under complete control of the virus. Once the virus knows how to take control, it quickly paralyzes your body from the ground up.
The virus doesn’t instantly affect your body until after a few hours because it’s still lying in wait, slowly trying to work through your nervous system and the signals coming through it. Once the virus knows how to take control, it quickly paralyzes your body from the ground up. Sometimes the virus will incorrectly internet the nervous system signals, which is why many Infected will experience twitching or muscle spasms.
How can the Infected write but not speak? That’s the one weakness of the virus: muscle memory. Regular brain stimuli can interrupt the virus’ “corruption” process, which is why many Infected have varying behaviors and noticeably distinct movement (animations) from each other. Speaking is a voluntary process that requires thinking; writing can often flow as one single, uninterrupted thought, so it’s more likely to carry over into an Infected’s behaviors.
Remember that the Infection stops the Cell Cycle from functioning as it should. The energy and extra cells acquired from mitosis are used to help power the Infected’s energy, at the cost of being unable to grow or to heal scar tissue.
So, here’s the entire process of what happens to your body whilst Infected:
Injury. You get attacked by an Infected.
The contaminated object/skin that injured you releases the virus into your bloodstream.
The blood traveling to your head carries the virus into your brain.
The virus begins taking control of your nervous system, but hasn’t begun paralysis yet.
The virus analyzes the signals being sent to and from your neurons, allowing it to know which signals can be “kept” and which can be overridden.
After about an hour or two, the virus has analyzed the signals (albeit not perfectly). It begins to block the brain from sending these signals.
Now the virus has complete control over your nervous system and can send and receive signals from the brain.
Paralysis begins. It starts from your feet to your head, working its way up your body. You’ll lose all feelings of pain and mitosis will stop working the way it’s supposed to.
When it reaches your head, you’re officially Infected. The virus, still residing in your brain, receives stimuli from the brain’s neurons to determine your iris/pupil/sclera color. This ocular system takeover is important because the virus still needs to receive signals from the eyes.
Now the virus can deliver instructions to the brain, which can enable it to perform bodily movements and maintenance. It needs to keep you alive so you can be its host.
Bonus: All of this is completely reversible. The virus deals little to no permanent damage on your body.
Coming soon: How is the Player immune to the Infection? Can you prevent yourself from turning Infected after you’ve been attacked?
Pings:
Do you have any theories or ideas? Let me know! Also tell me if you'd like to be pinged for the next one!
The Infection isn't necessarily a virus, but it can be referred to as a virus for simplicity's sake. It travels through the bloodstream; the only way for the Infection to enter your body is through injury. This injury must come from someone who is already Infected. The virus can dissipate quickly - being injured by something that was once touched by an Infected isn't going to Infect you. Objects that are commonly held by the Infected, typically weapons, can still retain traces of the virus on their surfaces due to being in constant contact with their Infected wielders.
Once the Infection enters your body, it cannot be stopped by the immune system. The immune system fails to detect or fight off the virus, as the Player still has traces of it in their body despite being attacked over a month before Hospital. While the virus is traveling through the bloodstream, its main goal is to reach the brain. Why? The Infection takes control of the Nervous System.
Upon entering the brain, the virus begins to take over the nervous system and use it as a command center. Slowly, individuals will lose control of the nervous system, and the virus completely blocks the brain from manually sending or receiving signals from it. This damage isn't permanent, however, and actually isn't "damage" at all. Note that the virus takes control of the nervous system and induces a paralysis-like state in the host.
The host will be unable to make any voluntary movements, and the virus will have complete control over sending and receiving signals from the nervous system. It still retains contact with the brain, to enable it to perform regular bodily functions and gain control over movement. The virus is basically a programming parasite, in which it reduces the brain to a specific set of instructions to follow while the individual is helpless to control it. These instructions make sure that the virus spreads and reproduces as much as possible.
Also, upon entering the brain, the virus receives stimuli from the brain's regular activity, and uses that stimuli to alter melanin production in the eye. It is also known that the Infected need to be able to see in order to carry out their instructions, so it must also take control of the Ocular System. The regular stimuli from the brain (personality) will determine the colors of the sclera(e) and pupil(s), although this may just be a side effect of the virus' control.
Another interesting thing to mention: the virus tries to keep the host alive. MiniToon confirmed that Infected are not doomed, and the condition can be completely reversed, as seen in Zizzy and Pony, which means no permanent damage is done to the body. We know that the Infection initially makes individuals stronger, but once it gains full control of the Nervous System, it can begin performing its set of instructions, which lead to increased aggression and violent behavior. The virus wants nothing more than to spread as much of itself as possible, which means keeping the host alive.
The Infection also stops cell growth. That means it prevents mitosis from occuring. Wait, what? Archie and Zompiggy have been Infected for quite some time, yet their injuries haven't even begun to heal. Since the Infection takes over the nervous system, the host will feel no pain, and the virus doesn't care as much about being exposed to other infections and bacteria, so if ignores cell growth and uses the energy from the Cell Cycle to continually provide the host with maximum energy.
The host needs to use maximum energy to insure damage is dealt to any uninfected individuals it may come across. Infected are never known to eat, so they rely on other bodily functions to keep them alive, which means using mitosis for purposes other than scar repair. Another thing to note is that Infected will never grow, due to the pausing of regular Cell Cycle activities, so your life is pretty much on pause until you are cured.
Bonus: the Infection can still work when you're dead, and also keep you alive if you happen to die.
Coming soon: What happens if you get attacked by an Infected? Can you prevent yourself from "turning" if you've been attacked?

ok, lemme explain what I’m doing here, again… APRP (accurate piggy roleplay) has some custom badge skins, so I’m gonna make some quests for these badge skins as if they were in the main game
Part 2 - Zack + Treasure Trap
Step 0 - go to book 2
Step 1 - Select refinery on Infection
Step 2 - Pick up the hat in the cafeteria
Step 3 - Get infected by the Piggy, only works if you have Zizzy equipped and if you’re the last survivor
Step 4 - Select ship on Player, then grab a parrot next to where Piggy spawns
Step 5 - After that, go to the radio and click/tap it, the radio should explode and reveal a pack of bird seeds
Step 6 - Click/Tap the seeds, you should hear a cha-ching and you got the skin and the trap
How the trap works:
This trap works like a tombstone trap, except with a larger hitbox and Gold Piggy rises out of it
This is an old screenshot taken shortly after Camp was released. Someone was playing as the old Piggy skin.
During gamemode Infection after I caught someone and the game ends, it somehow leads me outside the exit door.
I don't hate the mode, but it ticks me off when people pick it just to get purposely infected, to get more Piggy coins.
The player being immune to the infection means that they could have been captured and tested on.
Reverse animal testing?
Or alternate piggy dimension?
