SprintAbility

An example of an ability in the Shop.

Abilities are perks that give a player an advantage boost to help them survive in Piggy.

Mechanic[]

To unlock abilities, you'll first need to collect their blueprints, which spawn randomly across various maps. A collected blueprint will give progress towards a random ability you don’t have all the blueprints for. Once you've acquired all eight blueprints required for a certain ability, you can purchase it with Piggy Tokens.

After unlocking an ability, you can equip up to three. During gameplay as a survivor, an Energy Bar will appear next to the abilities that you have equipped. Each ability consumes a specific amount of energy when activated in exchange for the ability’s buff. Different abilities have different energy costs and effects.

Abilities are disabled on the Tag gamemode, during the TIO boss fight in the Hidden Ending, and in the entirety of Breakout, Metallica x Piggy and The Hunt. Additionally, enabling Hard Mode - or having Hard Mode or forced First Person Mode set in a Build Mode map - will also disable abilities, regardless of the map.

Abilities[]

Sprint[]

This is the default ability, available to all players for free. It provides a 3-second speed boost. When you crawl, you will be the same speed as your walking speed when boosted. Changes field-of-view when active.

Costs[]

  • Energy Cost: 6

Magnifying Glass[]

This ability reveals all item locations on the map for 6 seconds when activated.

  • Item locations are only visible to you, not your teammates.
  • A magnifying glass icon indicates the location of non-key items.
  • A key icon marks the location of a key.

Costs[]

  • Unlocking Cost: 8 blueprints and 50 Piggy Tokens
  • Energy Cost: 4

Decoy[]

When activated, this ability creates a decoy of your character that roams the map for 15 seconds. It can be killed upon contact with Piggy and can activate traps.

Costs[]

  • Unlocking Cost: 8 blueprints and 100 Piggy Tokens
  • Energy Cost: 8

Team Magnifying Glass[]

When activated, this ability reveals all item locations on the map to your teammates for 6 seconds. You will not be able to see the item locations yourself.

Costs[]

  • Unlocking Cost: 8 blueprints and 100 Piggy Tokens
  • Energy Cost: 9

Team Energy Boost[]

When activated, this ability grants all teammates a +2 energy boost. You will not receive the energy boost yourself.

Costs[]

  • Unlocking Cost: 8 blueprints and 125 Piggy Tokens
  • Energy Cost: 10

Flare[]

When activated, this ability places a flare at your current location, lasting for a limited time (similar to a trap). If a bot walks into a flare, it will be slowed down for a few seconds. If an infected player walks into or near the flare, they will be slowed and partially blinded for a few seconds.

Costs[]

  • Unlocking Cost: 8 blueprints and 85 Piggy Tokens
  • Energy Cost: 6

Camouflage[]

When activated, this ability makes your body mostly transparent for a few seconds, making it harder for enemies to see you. If Piggy is a bot, it will ignore you and target other players. If no other players are available, the bot may freeze until your camouflage wears off. Piggy can still eliminate you upon contact. Movement reduces your transparency, but bots still cannot detect you while camouflaged.

Costs[]

  • Unlocking Cost: 8 blueprints and 90 Piggy Tokens
  • Energy Cost: 7

Radar[]

When activated, this ability places a small satellite dish that marks nearby infected with an alarm symbol above their heads, revealing their location.

Costs[]

  • Unlocking Cost: 8 blueprints and 80 Piggy Tokens
  • Energy Cost: 5

Scanner[]

When activated, this ability generates a brief blue force field, visible for a split second, that marks nearby infected with an alarm symbol above their heads, revealing their location. The effect lasts for three seconds.

Costs[]

  • Unlocking Cost: 8 blueprints and 70 Piggy Tokens
  • Energy Cost: 4

Crafty (Unobtainable)[]

When activated, this ability creates a barricade that prevents any infected from crossing for 5 seconds. It can be strategically used to trap Piggy in a confined space or small room for a short period of time.

Costs[]

Warp[]

When activated, this ability drops a warp pad. When two warp pads are placed, stepping onto one of the warp pads will teleport you to the other warp pad, being similar to a Teleporter Trap. This is a one time use only.

Costs[]

  • Unlocking Cost: Free (Reward for the Mr. P Plushie hitting 400 sales)
  • Energy Cost: 9 (18 in all to actually use it)

Trivia[]

  • On 06/22/24, a bug occurred where abilities suddenly stopped functioning. This issue was later fixed.
    • During the bug, abilities would work during your first round as Piggy or Survivor but would stop working in subsequent rounds.
  • In Traitor Mode, if you are the traitor, the abilities are replaced by traps.
    • This can be used to figure out who is the traitor.
  • When a player uses a supportive ability that benefits all survivors, a notification appears above the energy bar displaying the action. (Ex: If you use Team Magnifying Glass, there will be a text saying, "Anonymous User has used "Team Magnifying Glass"!" above the energy bar.)
    • The Dreidel Event Build Mode item is able to cast Team Energy Boost as one of its effects, but the pop up will say “Dreidel has used "Team Energy Boost"! instead of using the username of the player who spun it.
  • A visual bug exists with abilities: if you leave a game while having at least one ability equipped and then rejoin, the game will incorrectly display that you have 0 abilities equipped.
  • In the Piggy section of the items shop, the game refers to traps as "Piggy abilities."
  • Sometimes, if you leave a game unexpectedly—such as due to a disconnection or a server shutdown—the abilities you just unlocked may be lost.
    • However, you won’t lose all the blueprints you’ve recently collected. For example, if you obtained 6 blueprints before disconnecting, the game might revert to showing only 5 blueprints collected.
    • If you unlocked an ability and then accidentally left, the game may revert to showing 7 out of 8 blueprints obtained for that ability.
