― Baren, Factory - Chapter 6
Baren is a character in Piggy: Book 2 and a member of The Silver Paw. He made his first debut in the ending cutscene of Store along with several other members of The Silver Paw. He reappears in Refinery, as a secondary bot, in The Safe Place, as an antagonist, and Factory, as an ally. He has two designs, one old design that only appears in Store and one new design shown in the chapters after it. He is also an NPC in Build Mode.
Physical Appearance[]
He is a dark brown bear with two round ears, tan snout and black nose. He wears a gray beret, a matching shirt, black armbands on both wrists, and blackish-blue pants. He wields an axe in Store and Refinery while in The Safe Place, he wields a rocket launcher, which was used to break down the the Safe Place building.
His old design is similar as his current model except he had reddish-pink cheeks and his hat was taller and wider. His head also used the glass material instead of smooth plastic.
History[]
Start of the Infection[]
Very little is known about Baren during the start of the infection, other than the fact that he was a bear who lived in Evalia and that he joined The Silver Paw when the infection started. It is still unknown how they met.
Store Meeting[]
After one of The Silver Paw members contacted the Safe Place group though radio signals, Baren was hiding behind some trees and bushes waiting until Zizzy, Pony, and the Player came towards them. Then Baren went out of hiding making sure that Zizzy, Pony, and the Player couldn't escape after Willow trapped Zizzy. Later, Baren went back to the Refinery to guard anyone who tried to break in.
Refinery Incident[]
When Pony and the Player went to the Refinery, Baren continued to guard the Refinery. He failed his job, however, and Pony and the Player got to Zizzy. If you walk in front of Baren, alarm sign will appear above his head and he will start chasing you around to kill you, but will return to his original spot if he doesn't manage to get you for a while. Later Baren went to the Safe Place with the rest of the group.
The Safe Place Meeting[]
When Baren reached the Safe Place, he launched rockets at the Safe Place, making it crumble down. When the Safe Place group eventually vacated, Baren silently waited while Willow talked and then they trapped them in the Factory.
Getting Trapped[]
While Baren was at the Factory doing his job, boxes fell on him mysteriously and he got trapped. Later, the Player saved him along with the other The Silver Paw members and went outside of the Factory. Then Willow came and tried to shoot the Player, but Baren and the rest of The Silver Paw told Willow to stand down, since they saved their lives. However, Willow only did this when she discovered that Zizzy had sisters. In the Survivor Continuity, Mimi tells the Player that she's going to stay behind with the The Silver Paw members to help with Giraffy's wound. In the Savior Continuity, Baren and The Silver Paw members decided to care for Giraffy while Mimi goes along with the rest of them to hunt for a cure.
Personality[]
As The Silver Paw member, Baren was very aggressive towards the Safe Place group. He was present at the time Zizzy was captured, and he also (along with his teammates) tried to kill the Player for coming to rescue Zizzy. Baren's disliking of the group continued as he went with The Silver Paw to capture the Safe Place members. He blasted holes in the Safe Place's windows, and took the group into a cell. He becomes friendly to the Safe Place once the Player saves him in the Factory. After all his friends (Or him and most of his friends if you're on the survivor continuity) escape, then they agree to help Giraffy with his gunshot wound.

Idle[]
Stays still in a breathing motion, swaying his arms back and forth every now and then.
Walking[]
When he walks, his legs move forwards and his arms move front to back along with his axe.
Stun[]
He looks down, with axe in hand.
Jumpscare[]
During his jumpscare, his arm holding his axe moves up and then slashes his opponent with it.
Trivia[]
- In the files, Baren used to be referred to as "Beary". It is unknown why.
- If you don't count Felix at the cafeteria, this is the first secondary bot you would see after opening the green door in the Refinery.
- He uses two weapons: a log-cutter axe and a rocket launcher.
- He is the only T.S.P. member known to utilize two different weapons.
- He wields an axe like Doggy, but of a different type.
- In the game files, he is named 'Black Bear', which is how he was mostly referred to prior to Factory.
- After Factory - Chapter 6, it was revealed that his real name is Baren.
- He, Filip, Felix, Katie, Kitty reuse the default Piggy jumpscare animation.
- Kitty and Katie reuse the default Piggy jumpscare animation, but due to using a different rig, the animation looks different. Their rigs were later fixed in Build Mode.
- He and Filip are the only two T.S.P. members who don't have a skin counterpart.
- He uses the same bazooka model as Delta.
- His name may have been derived from the German word Bären, which means "bears".
