Captain Budgey, or simply Budgey, is a character in Piggy: Book 2. Budgey makes her debut in Port - Chapter 7 as a new minor character. She unwillingly rescues the Player and their group on the Medora, saving them from Dakoda. She formerly had a crew, but they got infected.
Physical Appearance[]
Budgey is very similar to her infected counterpart; she has dark green skin, orange feet with black claws, and an orange talon at the end of her right arm. Her beak is orange, with white skin underneath it and red feathers on her head. She wears a black pirate hat with opening for feathers (albeit not as decorated as the one of her skin counterpart), and a blackish blue dress resembling a cloak. She has a green and light green plumage tail behind her and a hook on the end of her left arm instead of a talon. Finally, she wields a cutlass sword in her right talon and, in contrast to her skin counterpart, lacks cheeks.
History[]
Past[]
Not much is known about Budgey before she was introduced into the story, but she lost her hand at some point in the past. It is unknown how she lost her hand as she tells different stories on how it happened to everyone. At some point during the infection, her crew got infected, so she sealed them in the Medora.
Meeting the Safe Place and Willow[]
After noticing a lighthouse beacon, Budgey sails the Medora into a port. When the ship arrives, Willow, Anonymous User, Pony, Zee, Zuzy, Georgie, and Mimi (Savior Continuity only) gather on the ship and ask her if she can help them cross the North Sea. Budgey hesitates and states that they cannot go since her ship ran out of fuel. After Pony asks if she has anything to spare, Budgey explains how the spare fuel is sealed in the lower levels along with the rest of her crew. However, they are infected due to having caught "Davy Jones" sickness after he had cursed the world. After a small argument, Willow decides to go with the Player to the lower levers to get the spare gas so that they can sail to Doveport on the other side of the North Sea. Later, Budgey sends the Player and Willow to get the fuel to fuel the ship. Later, when they find the fuel with the group, they hear gunshots outside. They see Budgey outside, telling them they've arrived.

At this point, Budgey sets off to her separate ways, wishes good luck to the group, and leaves.
Personality[]
Budgey is mentioned in the Player's journal as "a cautious yet an entertaining sailor". Budgey dresses up as a pirate to cheer up the rest of her crew. and also lies about what happened to her left hand based on what she told the Player and a note written by Bobby that says she told many stories about the accident. Budgey is also shown to be kind and helpful as she helped The Safe Place members and Willow going across the North Sea to Doveport.

He seems to have been a particularly loyal to her, as there is a note written by him saying: "They got me. Next to Cap'n, I was the last. I'm sealing this ship so she can live on. I've failed too many people today, but I refuse to fail everyone." The fact that he locked himself and the rest of his infected comrades just to save Budgey proves his loyalty to her. Since the crewmates work on The Medora, Budgey is his captain. Although they don't have much interaction, it appears that they are on positive terms. However, some of the crewmates, such as Bobby and Pepper, were suspicious of her behavior, which they both expressed through notes. When it was revealed that the crew somehow contracted the infection, Budgey gave an order to her uninfected crewmates throw all of the infected (and those who were suspected of being infected) overboard. Unfortunately, Bobby was scratched by one of the infected crewmembers while doing so, after which Pepper, Archie and Kenneth got infected too. Trivia[]
- She is the surprise that MiniToon told us when he said we were going to meet a familiar face.
- She is the first and currently the only canon avian character to appear in the storyline.
- At the end of her debut chapter, she reveals that she somehow lost her left hand in a swimming pool incident, and she replaced it with a hook. She says this after the Player asked if she lost her hand from her infected crew.
- However, it doesn't seem to be the truth, as she told many different stories of how she lost her hand, based on what Bobby has said. It is later confirmed by MiniToon in a MiniMoon video that Budgey is a liar and that she lied about how she lost her left hand. It is unknown how she actually lost her left hand though.
- The sword she uses is the same one Ghosty has.
- Her hat is different than the one in her infected version; the NPC's pirate hat has no skull and no orange outline. It is the exact same hat as Ghosty, except Budgey's hat has feathers.
- The sword that Budgey wields is the Pirate Cutlass from the Roblox Catalog.[1]
- She is the third community-made or community-suggested character to be canon, with the first being Zompiggy and the second one being Billy.
- People theorized that she tried to kill the Player and Willow because she sent them down to get gas, however the ship made it to Doveport without the “needed” gas.
- However, after the release of the Player's Journal of Book 2, it was revealed that she didn't try to kill them, and the fuel did matter, since there wasn't enough fuel to dock to Doveport.
- Her infected skin counterpart has yellow pupils which means she helped her community before the infection, although it is unknown what she did to help her community.[2]
- MiniToon confirmed that Budgey will return at some point in the series.
- She reappears in the Piggy: Book 2 Credits, but it's unknown if that's what MiniToon was talking about.
- Mention of a Medora spin-off has been brought up by MiniToon, although it is currently not being worked on due to other upcoming projects.
- In the Player's Journal, the Player describes Budgey as "a cautious yet entertaining sailor".
- She is the first and only Skin Contest skin to be canon, that being an uninfected counterpart.
- Despite the Budgey skin being a pirate, Budgey isn't canonically a real pirate and is instead a sailor as confirmed by MiniToon.[3]
- A note written by Pepper reveals that Budgey acts like a pirate to cheer up the rest of the group.
