Decoy is an ability in Piggy. It is used to create a decoy of yourself that can be used to distract the infected.

Appearance[]

The icon is a person in idle with an arrow pointing towards the same person but in a darker shade representing a clone of the former person. In the Shop, unlike Sprint, it has no colors and everything is darker and a bit more transparent. You will have to obtain all 8 decoy blueprints across the maps to make it have color. Once you do, it will be the same as sprint but unequipped, the number beside the energy icon will show 8, it will say Decoy above, and the description will be "Build a decoy of yourself to wander around for 15 seconds".

Effects[]

Every time you use this ability, a decoy of your avatar will spawn. This decoy will randomly walk around the map for fifteen seconds before it disappears. However, any infected can attack the decoy during that period.

How To Use[]

Upon obtaining the ability, you can equip it via your items menu. In-game as a survivor, you must wait for your energy bar to reach 8. You can then use the ability to summon a decoy to distract, block, or confuse Piggy. The most common strategy is to use it as a barricade to make Piggy stop moving and attack the decoy. You can also use it to block a Crawling Trap and completely neutralize it.

Trivia[]

  • There is a sound effect with a smoke effect every time you activate it, possibly due to it being cover from the Piggies from knowing which is a decoy and which isn't.
  • Killing a decoy will not grant Piggy Tokens.
  • Most bots will chase down the decoy.
  • There used to be a bug where many Book 2 bots like Dessa and some Book 1 bots like Robby would not kill the decoy but rather push it as it wandered around.
  • This is the only non-team ability to have more than one human figure in the icon.
  • Sometimes, your decoy will not wander around.
  • There used to be a glitch where holding out an item while activating a decoy would give the decoy that item. The decoy could also use the item, creating cases where you could theoretically get items such as the second/third Wooden Sword early in Factory. This was later patched.
  • A decoy won’t die when falling from high places such as Elly Enterprises or the Plank in House.
  • There was a glitch where if you die, your decoy would stay and wouldn't disappear.
    • Due to this, Piggy could kill it multiple times.
  • There is a bug in Distorted Memory where if a player places a decoy, the decoy will have a gray block going through that decoy's head.
  • Mr. P's bullet doesn't chase a decoy but it can stun one if it collides with one.
  • Killing any decoys while playing as a skin that changes based off of player kills (e.g. Gryffyn, Carver, Meisery) will grant that change due to the game detecting the decoy as a player.
  • It's possible to create a Piggy Decoy during Infection. This Piggy Decoy will have the skin of the equipped skin of the player who does the glitch. This decoy will act like a normal decoy, but be unable to be killed by Piggy and can be shot. Shooting it will trigger the stun script, but it will stop moving and remain on the map for the rest of the round. It's animations will mostly use default Roblox animations, but it depends on the skin and whether it's idle or moving. Additionally, the default head will be visible on the model, albeit without a mesh.
