― Doggy, Alleys - Chapter 1
Officer Doggy, more commonly known as Doggy, is one of the four overarching protagonists (alongside Bunny, Zizzy, and Pony) of Piggy, serving as a major character in Book 1, the overarching protagonist of Alleys and a cameo character in the second half of Book 2 in the Savior Continuity. He was a member of the Lucella Police Department and was close friends/partners with the Player and Poley. He is currently an infected. He was redesigned 3 times, those being his former design, his redesign, and his police officer design. He is seen in many Book 1 chapters, and in Temple's savior continuity, as another hallucination in the Player's mind. He appears one final time as a hallucination in the Lab Hidden Ending.
Physical Appearance
Doggy is a brown dog with triangular ears, a light brown snout and a black nose. He wears a magenta t-shirt and mulberry purple pants.
When he got infected, Doggy's eyes contained red sclera, a red pupil in his right eye and a yellow pupil on his left eye, similar to his skin counterpart.
He is a brown dog with triangular ears, light brown cheeks and light brown snout with black nose. He wears a magenta shirt and has no pants. In addition, his eyes are a bit farther from one another.
He's quite similar to his original variant, but with an outfit that looks similar to the one Poley wears, which is a blue long sleeved shirt which consists of a collar and chest pockets. He has a gray badge near his upper chest area and yellow stripes near the end of his sleeves. The lower part of his shirt is colored black and he wears a black tie which has a white stripe on it. His shirt also has yellow arrow patterning on the side of his arms and blue badges on his shoulders with yellow dots between it and his head. He wears a blue police officer hat with a black stripe and a gray badge on it. He wears dark gray sweatpants with a yellow stripe on them and black leather shoes. In Alleys, he's seen with a taser as his weapon.
Same as his Piggy police officer design, albeit without cheeks and his eye placement is slightly changed.
History
Before The Hunt for Willow
Partnership with the Player
Doggy was a dog who presumably lived in Lucella and worked for the Lucella Police Department as a police officer. At some point, Doggy became partners with the Player, who was presumably still a detective and not a police officer at the time. This was presumably done either by Doggy's choice or Doggy's boss paired them up. Since then, they have been on every case together. Doggy was also friends with Poley.
Gallery Incident
Some time before Willow's arrest, there was a reported robbery at the Gallery, it is unknown who the robber was and what Doggy and the Player did to stop them but after that, the Gallery closed. This is probably what caused Doggy's dislike for galleries, as mentioned in the Player's journal.
Hunt for Willow
The Hunt
After Willow's parents were arrested and Daisy went to serve the military, Willow had no choice but to steal things across the city to take care of her younger brother, William. Doggy and the Player heard about these robberies and started to hunt for Willow, with the Player doing some investigation to find her.
The Alleys Arrest
The Player's investigation led them and Doggy to the Alleys, where Willow's parents were arrested long time ago, whereupon Willow's accomplice named Rash started chasing them. Doggy and the Player managed to crack open Willow's room and arrested her. When Rash snuck up behind them to attack them, Willow dissuaded him from doing so, saying that it's not worth it, whereupon both her and Rash were arrested. The two police officers went back to the police station to place them into prison cells. To the Player, this arrest didn't seem right, but Doggy told them that is how the things need to be, adding that "we all sometimes need to do what we have to instead of what we want to".
The Infection
Doggy's Day-Off
One day, Doggy showed up on his day-off, but the station was attacked by the infected forcing Doggy to hide in the garage. Later, when the Player arrived at the Station, they were informed by Doggy through a loudspeaker that there is an infected in the station and that they should meet him in a garage. After encountering Mother, the Player managed to get the gas can, which they then utilized to fuel Doggy's car and drive away from the Station with him.
Gallery Escape
Doggy's car ran out of gas in the middle of the city, whereupon the car was cornered by Mother, Father and Sheepy, leaving them no other choice except to go into the Gallery. Once they got inside, they sealed the doors as quick as they could, only to find out that Father managed to sneak inside. Doggy will chase Piggy and stun them for 20 seconds if you give a bone to him. Once the Player and Doggy unlock the sealed door, they talk for a little while and then decide to head towards the forest.
Life in a Forest

Doggy, in the forest, infected.
At the forest, the Player and Doggy set up a campfire and settled at an abandoned campsite. Sometimes they would both go on supply runs in the city. One night, four weeks after their escape from Gallery, when they were sleeping, Doggy was forced by Pony to drink the Substance - 128 on Willow's order, which caused Doggy to become infected. When the Player woke up, Doggy and Sheepy chased them around the forest, until they escaped.
Hallucinations
Since he became an infected, he continued to roam around the forest, presumably trying to infect anyone who came into his sight. The Player started to have multiple hallucinations of him from Hospital - Chapter 6 to Plant - Chapter 12. This is due to the Player being attacked by an infected, but being immune. There was also a picture of Doggy and Poley at the Police Station in the Player's Room to remember him, as well as Doggy's note to "Sir" asking about the Player's promotion from a police officer into a detective. He is also seen in the Player's memories in Temple - Chapter 10.
Battle against TIO
When the Player fights against TIO alongside their allies in the Hidden Ending, Doggy appears as a hallucination allies in the castle section of the 2nd phase. When he is given a bone by the Player, he attacks TIO.
Personality
As an uninfected, he is friendly towards his friends, Poley and the Player, and neutral with most people around him. It is shown that he has a very strong and positive bond with the Player, since he helps them on missions, and sometimes will comfort them when they are stressed. However, he is seen to be more strict than the Player, especially when it comes to arresting criminals, as the Player didn't want to arrest Willow for stealing food in order to survive. Despite listening to the Player, he says that they had to do it because they had to, not because they want to. He is very helpful based on how he knocked out Father in the Gallery during the infection. He is close to his friends, but acts indifferent towards others, especially criminals. After he turned infected, he became hostile to those who weren't.

Player | Before the infection: Friends
During the infection: Friends (later enemies) |
The Player is a very good friend with Doggy. They worked on a lot of cases together. When the Player was unsure whether or not arresting Willow and Rash was a right thing to do, Doggy told him that we sometimes do what we have to, not what we want to. The Player would later use this phrase when talking with Tigry. When the infection broke out, Doggy and the Player met once again at the station and drove away, but their car ran out of fuel in the middle of the city, with the infected surrounding them. This forced the two to run away into the gallery and barricade themselves in, only to find out that Father has entered the building as well, so they had to escape. Doggy could knock Father out by being given a bone. When they finally escape, Doggy and the Player decide to go to the forest. There, they lived for four weeks, until they went asleep, whereupon Doggy was forced by Pony to drink the potion, which infected him. When the Player found out that Doggy was infected, they were saddened by this, as confirmed throughout Player's journal. The Player also hallucinated Doggy when they were brought to a hospital, when they faced Mr. P in plant and when they encountered TIO. To keep the memory of Doggy alive, the Player kept a note Doggy wrote to an unknown "sir", telling him that the Player deserves a promotion. | Unknown |
Piggy Family and Sheepy | Before the infection: Friends
During the infection: Enemies (later allies with Sheepy) |
In the beginning cutscene of forest, the Player says to Doggy: “I think those monsters... they were our friends...”. This indicates that the Piggy family and Sheepy might have been their friends before the infection, or that they simply knew them. However, now that they were infected, they were enemies, since they tried to infect Doggy. Despite this, when Doggy got infected, he and Sheepy worked together to infect the Player, which they failed to do. | Unknown |
Pony | Before the infection: Unknown
During the infection: Enemies |
Pony infected Doggy by forcing him to drink Substance - 128 while the latter slept, so they are not on good terms. However, the only reason he did this is because he was ordered to do it by Willow, while he himself was unwilling to do it. Later, Pony felt regret for infecting Doggy and abandoned The Silver Paw. | Forest - Chapter 4 |
Poley | Before the infection: Friends
During the infection: Unknown |
Poley and Doggy were good friends and coworkers, as seen on the photo in the Piggy: Book 1 credits and a picture in the Safe Place, where they are bro-hugging each other. Unfortunately for Doggy, Poley was infected later. | Unknown |
Unknown sir | Before the infection: Coworkers
During the infection: Unknown |
Doggy worked for someone he simply refers to as "sir". He also persuaded said person to promote the Player into a detective, since the Player solved nearly every case they worked on. | Unknown |
Willow | Before the infection: Enemies
During the infection: Enemies |
Willow was a criminal who was stealing supplies from all over the city, so the police decided to stop her. Doggy and the Player were the ones who eventually managed to catch her. Willow begged the Player and Doggy to not do it, since she was trying to feed her family, but Doggy told her that she disobeyed the law and thus must be arrested, whereupon he and the Player put her and her accomplice Rash to jail. Because of this, Willow held grudge against the Player and Doggy ever since and later got her revenge by forcing Pony to infect Doggy with the potion she and The Silver Paw stole from hospital. | Alleys - Chapter 1 |
Rash | Before the infection: Enemies
During the infection: Enemies |
Rash was Willow's accomplice in theft and went as far as to try to harm Doggy and the Player, though Doggy can tase Rash if given a battery. Additionally, while the Player and Doggy were arresting Willow, Rash snuck up behind them to harm them, but was dissuaded from doing so by Willow, who told him it's not worth it. After that, both Willow and Rash were arrested and put to jail, but not before Rash said: "Grrr... You haven't seen the last of us!" | Alleys - Chapter 1 |
Trivia
- He is the person talking to the speaker in the intro of Station - Chapter 2.
- Unlike Danny Dog (the character that Doggy was based on), his snout is a separate color from his skin.
- If you shoot Doggy in Forest - Chapter 4, it will say "Doggy is gone for 20 seconds." instead of the usual "Piggy is gone for 20 seconds." The same happens with Foxy in Carnival, Grandmother in City, Mousy in Mall, etc.
- However, he and Bunny are unable to be shot in the second stage of Plant - Chapter 12, as these are hallucinations.
- The Player hallucinates Doggy during the ending of School.
- He is the first character to have red sclera as an infected, the second being Poley.
- Interestingly, they are both police officers.
- Strangely, Doggy and Bunny's hallucinations in Plant still uses the old head model. This was likely an oversight.
- A note in Hospital says that Doggy was missing for weeks, likely meaning that Doggy was considered missing when he and the Player were surviving in the forest.
- If you look by one of the benches by the campfire in Forest, you can find the empty bottle from which Doggy drank Substance - 128 to become infected.
- As revealed in Camp - Chapter 11, Pony was the one who infected him, as instructed by Willow.
- Doggy is implied to have a good connection with the Player, as they are both coworkers and the Player spent four weeks with Doggy trying to survive the infection.
- He is the first protagonist to get infected.
- Doggy has a red car, as seen in Gallery - Chapter 3 and Station - Chapter 2.
- In the Piggy: Book 1 Credits, Doggy is seen walking next to a tent in Forest.
- He was added into Build Mode as a friendly NPC on July 18th, 2020. On July 27th, 2024, he was added as a hostile NPC.
- When the ending cutscene for Station first got added, there was a mistake in Doggy's dialogue, where he said "Too Shay", instead of "Touché". This was quickly fixed.
- This mistake is still commonly referenced in the form of jokes in the community.
- Doggy can be seen in his police uniform in the Piggy: Book 2 Official Trailer. He appears in a scene standing in an alleyway. This has been revealed to be a flashback with him in Alleys.
- Even after his Book 1 redesign, his officer model in Book 2 and its skin counterpart wasn't updated. This outdated model was also used in Heist, long after the redesign update released.
- An updated model for Officer Doggy does exist, but it's only used in Build Mode.
- This same thing also happened to the Pandy (Uniform) skin.
- He appears in two official Piggy T-Shirts, one where he has an orange shirt, and the other one where he is a shadow.
- Interestingly, when Piggy characters were supposed to be redesigned, MiniToon said that he will change Doggy's shirt's color into orange, but this never happened.
- As revealed in the Player's journal, Doggy dislikes galleries.
- In The Safe Place, there is a note written by Doggy regarding the Player's promotion from a police officer to a detective.
- According to the Player's journal, during their stay in Forest, Doggy and the Player silently visited small towns for supplies.
- It also says that Doggy planned to travel south to see old monuments and ruins.
- In one of his interviews with Ant_Antixx, MiniToon said that Doggy is older than Willow, who in turn is older than Pony and Zizzy.
- He and Tigry are the only characters to have more than three Build Mode player models.
- He is seen pictured in The Safe Place in the Player's bedroom, along with Poley.
- Doggy uses a slightly different model in Station and the intro to Gallery, as his eye positions match his old design. This was likely because it was easier to edit the current version than insert a new one.
- Additionally, he kept his old head model in Alleys, despite the 6/16/2024 update redesigning the characters in Alleys and Store.
- A similar problem occurs with the characters in Plant, Alleys, Store and Mall. In Plant's True Ending, Penny kept her old design while Mother and Father kept their cheeks, the former lacking a flower, kept her pants color and has a different shade of purple for her dress. In Mall, Zee and Zuzy kept their old designs while Giraffy and Mimi appear as their old designs with their current shirt/dress color, the latter lacking glasses. In Alleys and Store (excluding the latter end cutscene), Zizzy, Zee, Zuzy, and Pony kept their old nose colors and Pony and Mimi kept her old shirt/dress color.
- Additionally, he kept his old head model in Alleys, despite the 6/16/2024 update redesigning the characters in Alleys and Store.
- Doggy presumably likes donuts as seen in the credits of Lab reaching for a box. This is a common stereotype among police officers in modern media.
