"Zizzy, You gotta run! There’s a big scary robot in that house, don’t go in!"
― Zuzy referring to Duocara, Mansion
Duocara is an extra skin in Piggy. It is the bot and main antagonist of Mansion. The only way to obtain it is by completing the aforementioned chapter on the Bot gamemode.
Appearance[]
Duocara is a two-faced robot with one face being visible on the front and the other one hidden on the back. The first face is red with missing eyes and a big black smile along with dark red cheeks, with visible cracks around the eye holes and smile. The second face is the same as the first but it's blue instead of red and has a frown. There is a brown and rusty plate on the back of its head, covering the face in the back. There are visible robotic parts between the two faces. The body has a blue shirt with an orange scarf. There are visible orange gears under the shirt. Duocara uses wheels to move. The two black wheels are attached to a brown wooden platform, which is attached to the body with orange rods. Inside a blue tube in the middle of the rods, there is a blue electric spark.
Bot Mechanics[]
Duocara is faster than the player as a bot. The faces rotate at certain points, making a loud creaking sound. Duocara will chase the player depending on what side of the face is at the front, and if a player is looking at Duocara in first person POV.
- When Duocara's face is red, the player should not look at Duocara.
- When Duocara's face is blue, the player should look at Duocara while running away.
- When Duocara's faces are rotating, it's best to keep running since Duocara will continue to chase during this phase.
Animations[]
Idle[]
Stands upright with arms down and head occasionally facing down. After a few seconds, will look side to side while dwindling fingers.
Walking[]
Similar to idle, but one hand is reaching out while the other is hanging back with the fingers moving in both hands.
Jumpscare[]
Scares them by raising their arms while their head slightly twitches, then puts their arms down and tilts their head to the left. As the player falls down to the right, their face then rotates.
Stunned[]
Looks down and puts arms down, with occasional head twitching (overlays the current animation).
Dance[]
The only unique dance animation is /e dance1, which is when the upper half of Duocara's body starts turning counter-clockwise.
Jumping/Falling[]
Looks upwards while raising right hand.
Leaks[]
- The first hint for Duocara was by MiniToon. He posted an emoji hint: 👀❌🟢 👀🔴
- The designer of Duocara was revealed to be KaiuDex, who posted these images as leaks:
Trivia[]
- Duocara's lower half does not move in any of the emote animations.
- Duocara is one of the quest skins you can obtain for escaping a map, the others being Blatt, Eelektra, Frostiggy, Ombra, Sam, Mr. P, Mrs. P, ???, Centrell, Decaying Infected, and The Chained.
- Duocara is also the second skin that you earn after completing a holiday-themed map, the first being Frostiggy and the third being Sam.
- Duocara, along with Ombra in Breakout, are the only two bots to not emit the sting noise that plays when they spot a player in Book 2. The only way to know if they have begun chasing you is when their theme begins playing when you look at them.
- However, for Duocara, it is very buggy and most of the time does not work, in which the only way to know if Duocara is chasing a player is if it is faster than the players default walkspeed.
- Duocara's name is a combination of 'duo' (a root meaning two) and 'cara' (Spanish word for face), referencing on how it switches between two faces. As such, the name literally means "two-faced".
- Duocara, Ombra, Eelektra, and Duocara (Mayor) are the only skins given custom emotes that only apply to one emote command (Being /e dance1 for Duocara and Eelektra,/e point for Ombra).
- ??? also has one emote, though it activates with any /e dance variant.
- Duocara is the second robot skin, the others being Robby, The Prototype, and Duocara (Mayor).
- Out of all these skins, Duocara is the only one whose appearance doesn't resemble a pig.
- Despite Duocara's jumpscare camera finishing with the player falling down, they don't die until Duocara finishes rotating their face, same for the mayor form.
- Duocara is one of two skins that does not have legs and instead rolls around on wheels, the other being The Prototype.
- Coincidentally, they are both animated by KaiuDex.
- Duocara is the the first of two skins in the game to be solely made by KaiuDex, the other being Sheepy (Scientist).
- Duocara, Blatt, The Prototype, and Duocara (Mayor) are the only skins with no eyes.
- This is because Duocara and Duocara (Mayor) have markings for where their eyes should be, Blatt is blind and has to rely on Scry to find the players and The Prototype does not appear to have eyes at all.
- Duocara is the fourth skin that received an emoji hint, with the first being Dakoda, the second being Archie and the third being Anteo.
- Duocara has the same bug as Carver where if you get kills or infect someone for either the "get 5 kills" quest or "infect 3 players in Infection mode" quest, it won't count for either quest.
- With Season 7 revamping the season system to no longer include quests, this bug is now irrelevant.
- When Mansion first released, Duocara was a little bit faster and kept track of players for a longer time. This was nerfed shortly after Mansion came out.
- Duocara's "footstep" sounds also didn't work, but this was fixed alongside the nerf.
- According to KaiuDex, Duocara doesn't actually hurt Zee or Zuzy during its jumpscare, and that most it could do is scare them.[1] He was told to not make the jumpscare violent, resulting in it being underwhelming to some players.[2]
- This was also later confirmed by MiniToon. This also makes them one of the two only skins in the game to not attack the player in their jumpscare, though they still die for the sake of gameplay. The other being Laura.
- In the Regarding The Rumors video, it was confirmed that Eddy made Duocara.
- They share their jumpscare sound with Carver, the bones trap and The Psycho.
