The Egg Traps are a type of trap in Piggy. Along with Elly, Grandmother and Zizzy skins, it was added when City - Chapter 9 was released.

Mechanic

If stepped on, it makes a breaking egg sound while it covers your view with a splattered egg, slowing you down for 6 seconds.

Appearance

Current

Same as it's old appearance but the egg is now completely white and the base is completely black.

Old

The egg trap is a pink and green egg on a purple and black base. The egg is colored with green oval-like shapes and bits of the pink are darker than the rest of the pink. The base is a squished hourglass shape with a liquid-like pattern of purple and black.

Oldest

The egg trap is a pink egg with two horizontal green stripes on a bed of sticks. The sticks are pink with green stripes going through them and clustered around the egg.

Trivia

• This trap was intentionally released during Easter, a traditionally egg-themed holiday.
• At one point, the egg trap's mesh was invisible and hence the trap itself was. It received a complete remodel in the 6/16/2024 update to solve this issue.
  • It received another remodel in an unknown update, changing it's colors.
    • In Build Mode you can still see the old design of the Egg Trap instead of the current one.
• Currently, this is the first and only trap to actually block your screen.
• This is the first trap that does not look like a bear-trap, with the second being the Teleporters, the third being the Tombstone Trap, the fourth being the Snowpiggy Trap, the fifth being the Inflatable Trap, the sixth being the Mouse Trap, the seventh being the Crawling Trap, and the eighth being the Concoction Trap.
• This trap is considered to be one of the most useless traps due to its tiny size and insignificant effect. Other traps criticized for their impracticality are the Tombstone Trap (as the Zompiggy bot travels slowly and does not last a very long time) and the Teleporter (since it only affects the Piggy, not the player).

The Bones Trap is an alternate version of the Egg Trap in Piggy. It released in Season 5 - Witching Hour.

Mechanic

If stepped on, it makes a sound while a skeleton similar to Skelly jumpscares the player, slowing you down for 6 seconds.

Appearance

It's a small pile of dirt with three pieces of a bone arm in it.

Trivia

• This variant of the trap is technically less effective than the base trap, as the base egg trap blocks the screen for the entire 6 second effect while the jumpscare on the Bones Trap is under a second.
• The Skelly that appears in the jumpscare is closer to Skelly (White) in Piggy: Hunt than the normal Skelly in terms of color scheme.
• This and the Tombstone Trap are two Halloween themed traps.
  • They also both spawn an NPC, this trap spawning a Skelly and the Tombstone Trap spawning a Zompiggy.
    • However, Zompiggy can kill the player while Skelly simply jumpscares the player.
