Ghost Mode is a feature that allows you to become a ghost and walk around the map after you die/escaped. Once you spawn as a ghost, no one in the game nor the bot will be able to see you. This feature released with two survivor abilities: Camouflage and Radar. There will be a button below the person you are spectating that says ghost mode. Click on it, and it will activate this mechanic.
Overview[]
When you have died by any means (falling, acid or attacked) or have escaped, you are able to go into spectating mode. There is a cyan button below that says "BECOME GHOST". When you click on it, you will become a ghost. No one that is playing the game nor the bot will be able to see the ghost; only other ghosts will be able to. This allows you to see what other people are doing and where the other items are. However, you cannot crouch through vent openings, and you cannot access locked areas behind doors.
Appearance[]
The basic appearance of the button is a black rounded rectangle with a grey-blue outline that says BECOME GHOST in cyan font. When you are ghost, your avatar will become half-transparent making you resemble a ghost.
Trivia[]
- You cannot activate ghost mode when the player playing as Piggy is in the Piggy Waiting Room.
- MiniToon may add abilities to ghosts in the future based on a tweet he said.[1]
- When in Ghost Mode, you were able to push every bot, NPC, and other players in both Book 1 and Book 2. This was later fixed.
- Ironically, turning into a ghost would not make you go through walls and doors.
- The ability to walk through doors used to only work for Book 1 doors, but now doesn't work for any doors.
- You cannot crawl in this mode, being actually unnecessary.
- If you escape while crawling, you will be able to crawl in the mode, but you can't stand up.
- Ghosts cannot be seen through reflective materials, just like Ghosty and Frostiggy.
- Even though ghosts aren't infected, they can be blinded by a Flare.
- They also used to be able to be alarmed by a Radar.
- If you escape a map and then become a ghost and then stop being a ghost, when the intermission appears, it will say that you died instead of saying you escaped.
- This happens because when you stop being a ghost, it kills you to bring your avatar back to the Black Box.
- This is also the case for an infected player, which is why they always have the red X in the corner of the Piggy box.
