Giraffy is a deuteragonist character in Piggy and one of the residents of The Safe Place. He is a minor character in Book 1, as his first and only appearance is a debut in the ending cutscene of Mall - Chapter 10, where it is revealed that he is the one of the survivors that Zizzy and Pony rescued. In Piggy: Book 2, Giraffy gets a larger role. In The Safe Place - Chapter 4, he is a friendly NPC and will knock out the Piggy for 20 seconds if you give grass to him.
Physical Appearance[]
Giraffy is a yellow giraffe with a long neck, a snout, dark brown spots on his head, dark brown pentagon-shaped ears with pinkish inside, a beige oval-shaped nose and brown nostrils. He wears a dark indigo shirt with a matching fedora, and storm blue pants. In The Safe Place - Chapter 4, he wields a club as a weapon.
In Lab - Chapter 12 and post-credits cutscene of Hidden ending, his pants are black and he now also wears a gray jacket.
His old Book 2 design is mostly the same as his current design, except his shirt and fedora are deep blue. He also has beige cheeks.
Same as his old Book 2 design except he doesn't wear a fedora.
In Winter Holiday, Giraffy wears a Santa outfit and a fake, white beard around his snout area. Additionally, his fedora is red.
History[]
Pre-Infection[]
Giraffy was a giraffe who lived in Evalia, where he earned a diploma at the Biology School of Lambridge and was possibly skilled in horticulture. He also worked as a counselor at the forest camp. When the infection broke out, he joined The Safe Place.
Living in The Safe Place[]
Giraffy's first on-screen appearance is during the ending cutscene of Mall - Chapter 10, where he is seen talking to Mimi. Giraffy lived in The Safe Place where he befriended Pony, Zizzy, Mimi and the twins, and eventually the Player and Georgie Piggy. He is shown to be into gardening, as he is seen gardening in the ending cutscene of Alleys - Chapter 1.
Saying Farewell[]
Giraffy is happy to see the gang returning from the Store, but is sad for losing a bet with Mimi on when the gang would return, meaning he has to cook for the rest of the week. He is supportive of meeting with the mysterious group to trade but stays behind, as he needs to harvest as much food as possible before winter.
Learning What Happened[]
Giraffy comes out along with Georgie, Zee, Zuzy and Mimi to meet the Player and Pony. He is shocked into silence at the fact that Zizzy is nowhere to be found, just like the others.
Captured by The Silver Paw[]
When T.S.P destroys The Safe Place and Raze busts in, Giraffy gets locked in his room. Upon being freed by the Player, he promises he will protect them from Raze if they bring him grass, like Zizzy. At the end of the chapter, he, along with the other Safe Place members are put in a cell by Willow, even though he pleaded to Willow not to do it, since he did nothing to her. He and Mimi apologize to Pony for causing this to happen by supporting trading with the group.
Sacrifice[]
He appears in the cell along with the rest of the group in the opening cutscene. Due to guilt from being a main reason why Zizzy became infected, he takes the bullet Willow shoots at Pony as a form of redemption. The Player then tells the group to take Giraffy to safety while the Player and Pony stay behind to fight Willow.
Staying Behind[]
He appears in the ending cutscene, where he's seen standing with the help of Mimi. Mimi says that Giraffy will be okay, but he needs rest. In the Savior Ending, The Silver Paw volunteers to take care of Giraffy, and Katie offers her medical knowledge to help him. In the Survivor Ending, Mimi will take care of him instead.

Reunited (Willow-Savior continuity)[]
While Pony, Willow, and the Player have gone separate ways in the lab, Mimi, Zee, Zuzy, and Georgie leave to pick Giraffy up, who got to Doveport with the help of The Silver Paw. He is also given a gray jacket. When Willow, Pony, and the Player make it out of the camp, Giraffy greets them after a long time, and Willow tells them that the cure was crushed under the rubble of the lab. Giraffy says that there might be another place that's working on a cure.
Reunited (Hidden Ending continuity)[]
In the post-credits cutscene in Hidden Ending, Giraffy is seen sitting on a couch in Kona's house, talking with Georgie, Zee and Zuzy.
Personality[]
Giraffy is mentioned in the Player's journal as a tough guy who has a strong passion for nature and ecology. He seems to like gardening as he can be seen gardening in the ending of Alleys. Giraffy made a bet with Mimi and lost. He doesn't do a good job at cooking as a note by Giraffy in The Safe Place says that the kids won't eat his meals and wonder if his cooking is really bad. Giraffy can be scared by how Zuzy scared him as mentioned in Zee and Zuzy's journals but can be brave sometimes as he took a risk to save Pony from getting shot by Willow. Throughout the rest of Book 2, he doesn't show up as he is being taken care of. In the Willow Savior ending, it shows that he is better and managed to get across the sea with the help of The Silver Paw and reunite with the rest of The Safe Place members.

Trivia[]
- Unlike Mimi, Giraffy didn't have any quotes in the ending cutscene of Alleys - Chapter 1.
- Instead, he is seen doing some gardening in the background.
- He is the only Piggy character to have a visible neck.
- Unlike Gerald Giraffe (the character that Giraffy was based on), he lacks a mane. Additionally, his spots are on his head unlike his character basis, whose spots are on his neck instead.
- His weapon can be found here.
- He is the second friendly NPC that can be fed grass to stun Piggy. The first is Zizzy and the third is Zee (exclusive to Sewers - Chapter 5).
- In the Winter Holiday map, Giraffy's Santa design was made by accident, but MiniToon had decided to keep it.[1]
- In the redesign update, his model in Mall was only slightly altered to change his shirt color instead of using his full redesign.
- Mimi also has her dress color changed as well as her glasses removed while Zee and Zuzy kept their old designs.
- A similar problem occurs with the characters in Plant, Alleys, Store and Station. In Plant's True Ending, Penny kept her old design while Mother and Father kept their cheeks, the former lacking a flower, kept her pants color and has a different shade of purple for her dress. In Station and Alleys, Doggy kept his old head model, though he lacks cheeks in the former. In Alleys and Store (excluding the latter ending cutscene), Zizzy, Zee, Zuzy, and Pony kept their old nose colors and Pony and Mimi kept their old shirt/dress color.
- Mimi also has her dress color changed as well as her glasses removed while Zee and Zuzy kept their old designs.
- He is the second character to be shown by MiniToon in Build Mode as a morph that we know of, with the first being Boony and the third being Kreeky Stream Skin (although they can only be triggered by MiniToon himself).

- It is also Giraffy's early Book 2 model.
- MiniToon made a fake audio called "Giraffy Betrayal" that got leaked. He did this to throw off leakers, as confirmed in a tweet.[3]
- Giraffy's weapon has a close resemblance to the stick in Piggy: Intercity.
- Biology school of Lambridge, the school that Giraffy learnt in, is actually a parody of the University of Cambridge.
- One of the notes in The Safe Place - Chapter 4 implies he is bad at cooking.
- In Winter Holiday the Dreidel may allude to him being Jewish. MiniToon stated this may be a possibility.
- He was later confirmed to be Jewish alongside Mimi when MiniToon said if he was in Twas The Night Before Pigmas, he would celebrate Hanukkah.[4]
- Giraffy and Mimi were one of the options on a poll ran by MiniToon where he asked which characters the community would like to see more story of, with the other options being Bunny, the T.S.P. crew, and Zizzy and her sisters.[5]
- Giraffy was planned to punch the infected as his attack animation in The Safe Place at some point, though this was scrapped as MiniToon decided to stick with Giraffy's club.[6]
- Giraffy was a biologist in his spare time, as shown on his diploma.

- His activation sound origin is an audio from the Roblox Audio Library called scream made by SuperEvilAzmil.
- It appears to originate from a sound effect found on Sound Ideas called Animal, Dinosaur.
