Not to be confused with another gun. |
The Gun is an item in Piggy used in most chapters as an offensive item against Piggy. It most often spawns unloaded, so it requires ammo to be used.

Usage
If you have ammo in your gun, you can shoot Player/Bots and they will be knocked out for 20 seconds. In the Traitor gamemode, the gun can be used to kill the Traitor, but shooting the wrong person will turn them into a Piggy, so be careful.
In regular gamemodes, it starts with zero, but if the safe containing the gun has been open for a while, don't try shooting the gun to see how much ammo it has left, or it may turn out to be useless. Instead, hover over the gun icon in your inventory to see how much ammo you have left (This only works for PC and mobile users).
Some maps have other items instead of the gun, such as carrots, bones, grass, batteries and gas, which can be given to friendly NPCs to stun Piggy. Those chapters include Gallery, School, Alleys, Store, The Safe Place, Sewers and Temple.
If the gamemode is Traitor but you spawn in a map that does not normally have a gun in other gamemodes, a gun spawns on the map so that the innocent players have a chance to win.
In, Metro, the gun is replaced with the crossbow.
Some maps have both a gun and items for a friendly NPC. Those are Hospital, City, Mall, Outpost and Plant.
In Plant, if you try to shoot Mr. P, he won't be knocked out, and the shot will be transparent. In a random update, if you go near a counter, table or something blocking your way and shoot Piggy, the bullet would just go straight up, not actually stunning the Piggy. However, now if you try the same thing, it has a greater chance of actually shooting the Piggy, allowing you to escape.
When trying to get the RB Battles Season 3 Plant Badge, you must shoot two of the pillars with the green rings which allows diagonal walkways to become accessible.
During the Winter Holiday Hunt event, in the Refinery, you would have needed to shoot the door in front to the right of the orange room, in order to activate the Primrose quest. This was the only time shooting something else activates an event other than Piggy being knocked out.

Trivia
- The gun is based off the M1911 pistol.
- When hovering your mouse over or holding your finger on the item's button at the bottom of the screen, a caption will be displayed showing how much ammo the gun has (In the format 'Ammo - #'). This also works for the Crossbow.
- Its firing sound was taken from the pistol's firing sound from Shadow the Hedgehog.
- There was no recoil or flash and a long yellow rectangle came out when shooting. In a random update, the gun was now updated to show an actual bullet shooting, have a flash and have recoil when firing. It also significantly reduced the chance of the bullet randomly shooting up instead of shooting Piggy, although it still very rarely happens.
- Willow uses a similar weapon. It has the shape and size of a airsoft electric revolver, although players usually think it's a modified Colt Python.
- The gun was added to Build Mode on June 28th, 2020.
- If there isn’t a gun in a map, there'll usually be an NPC to knock out Piggy, although this isn't the case in Winter Holiday, Distraction, Camp - Chapter 11, Lab - Chapter 12, Breakout, Mansion, RB Battles Spaceship, Metallica x Piggy Event, Time, and Distorted Holiday.
- In the Traitor gamemode, the gun will be pre-loaded with 2 ammo.
- Additionally, if the Traitor gamemode is selected on a map without a gun, a gun will spawn on that map but no ammo will spawn on the map. Instead, two ammo are preset inside the gun.
- However, even if traitor mode is picked in Temple or Distraction, the gun will not spawn, meaning that you will need to use the bot to kill the traitor.
- This used to be the case for several other Book 2 maps, but this was later fixed.
