The Knife is a weapon type of item in Piggy mainly used by traitors for killing other survivors. It appears as an item in the Traitor gamemode and Build Mode, as Foxy's weapon in Carnival. It was first added into the game along with the Traitor gamemode on April 17th, 2020.

Appearance

The knife is a drop-point knife with a black handle that has three dark yellowish spots one above each other. The blade is a shade of gray.

Mechanics

If you are the traitor in the Traitor gamemode, you will be given the knife as an item after a certain amount of time, in the main game it's 1 minute and in Build Mode it's 30 seconds. You can also pick up the knife item in Build Mode to become the traitor. With the knife in your inventory, you can walk up to other survivors with it out and kill them with it. Whenever you pick up another item, the knife and whatever you picked up won't swap in places, and instead both items will stay in your inventory.

Trivia

• Foxy’s knife and the traitor's knife have the same model.
• The knife's icon is the icon for the Mad Murderer Knife, though the model itself is a mesh called Knife.
• This is one of the only tools able to be used against other survivors, the others being the gun, traitor gun and crossbow.
  • The Knife and Traitor Gun are the only items that can be used against other players regardless of the mode. Gun and Crossbow cannot hurt players outside of Traitor.
• When you receive the knife in the Traitor gamemode, the knife goes in the first slot while you aren't holding an item and in the second while you are.
• It was added to Build Mode as an item on November 8th, 2020. Picking it up will turn the player into a traitor.
  • MiniToon confirmed in his Guesty & Doggy's Funeral stream that it was only added for fun.
• When someone picks up the knife in Build Mode, they cannot be killed by the gun or the crossbow unless it's Traitor mode. This is most likely a bug.
• This is the only item that stays in your inventory even after picking up another item.
• Every remaining survivor having the knife in Build Mode used to cause the game to end, just like in a normal round of Traitor mode.
  • This was later changed to not cause the game not end in a small update on November 28th, 2022.
• The only scenario where the traitor can use abilities is when a survivor picks up the knife item in Build Mode.
