Dr. Kona Klip or simply known as Kona is a character in Piggy: Book 2. He is a survivor who is friends with Mimi, since they both studied in the same engineering school, and lives somewhere in Doveport. He is an engineer who has invented Robots and is currently studying the infected. He makes his first debut in the ending of Docks - Chapter 9 at his house. He also appears in the Piggy: Book 2 credits, and the Hello, Employee and Regarding The Rumors teasers.
Physical Appearance[]
Kona is an orange-brown klipspringer whose head model slightly resembles Kenneth's. He has black ears with white insides, a black oval-shaped nose, a white snout, fur on sides of his head small, reddish-brown horns with an orange-brown stripe along the center of his snout, black and white eye marks and white whiskers. The area below his snout is also white and he wears a white, long-sleeved shirt and maroon, knee-length breeches with blackish-red socks and black shoes underneath. In addition, he wears maroon, short-sleeved jacket with hood and a pocket, a black belt, black and gray goggles, and a small maroon hard hat, which has openings for his ears and horns.
A younger Kona can be seen in the Hello, Employee teaser looking similar to how he does in the game, but with various changes. He had three brown fur tufts on the side of his head instead of two, his nose had a black marking running down his snout, and he had small, dark brown cheeks. He wore no helmet, and his goggles were tinted blue. He wore a blue lab coat with maroon buttons, and pockets on the front (one of them containing a pencil), and a black tie with a white, long-sleeved shirt. He also wore black pants. Interestingly, he lacks whiskers.
History[]
Early Life[]
Kona Klip presumably was a klipspringer that lived in Evalia before studying engineering.
Meeting Mimi[]
At one point, Kona met another engineer named Mimi at an engineering school, whom he became good friends with.
Work at Protection Services Through Mechanics & Machines[]
Presumably after Kona graduated from the school, he went on to become an engineer working for Protection Services Through Mechanics & Machines, where he built what is presumably the first prototype of the Mall Security Protocol Droid.
Building the Safety Mall Droid[]
Modified versions of Robby were built by Kona, and one particular droid became his assistant until then. Kona was then angered when finding out some of his other Robby droids were upgraded with a chainsaw.
Kona's Secret[]
In one of the notes in Temple, it is revealed that Kona accidentally dug into a historical site twice and that he turned it into his lab. In the same note, he wrote: "Well, hopefully the government doesn’t find out!", meaning that what he did wasn't entirely legal. He also left another note which is supposed to guide others in how to complete the Wheel Shape Mechanic, but since the note was unfinished and doesn't contain any information about how to actually complete the code, it is essentially useless. Sometime during this he celebrated Christmas along with Robby in his lab. It is unknown if that happened before or after.
Meeting The Safe Place Members[]
When The Safe Place members and Willow reach Doveport in search for the cure, as they are making their way through snowy plains, they realize that the military has been bombing the place. Robby jumped in front of the Player to save them from the bomb, but in act of doing so he also knocked them down on the floor. the Player was afraid, thinking Robby wants to do them harm, but then Kona came out of his house and told everyone to get in. Kona then introduced himself and had a chat with them about his history and robot, and explains that a large group of the infected suddenly appeared in Doveport, which is why the military started bombing the place. He claims that he has an interest in researching the infected. He tells the group that they can take the exit to his lab downstairs, and tells Robby to accompany them. If you're on the Savior Continuity, he also gives Mimi a walkie-talkie so they can contact each other, while they make it through the lab. Once, the group gets out of the lab, Kona tells Mimi that something strange is happening at the military outpost up ahead.
Appearance in Credits and Hidden Ending[]
In Piggy: Book 2 credits, Kona is seen looking at something on his desk while Robby examines a wrench and a screwdriver behind him. In the Hidden Ending, Kona is seen inside his house with the rest of The Safe Place members, conversing with Mimi.
Personality[]
Kona is an energetic, upbeat, but benevolent inventor. He is possibly a pacifist, stating he invented the Safety Mall Droid to protect civilians, not assault intruders. He is rather reckless, calmly joking about dangerous situations. He is also somewhat eccentric and apathetic to the infected, as he find them fascinating and is invested in studying them. He even acknowledges that he is somewhat crazy. Kona is also independent as proven by his note from temple when added with his infected skin. He also likes to have his boundaries while working without anyone interfering him as seen in Hello, Employee.

- Many people speculated at first that Kona was the engineer Mimi was talking about in Port, when MiniToon leaked an image of him on Twitter.[1]
- This was later revealed to be true with the release of Docks.
- Robby having a chainsaw arm at the Mall was not planned by Kona. He says that someone else came with the idea, and he disliked it.
- This can be proven by one of the encrypted notes in the Mall. The note says that they are upgrading the security robots with chainsaw arms to defend against intruders and the infected.
- This explains why the other Robby attempted to attack the player in Mall.

- He appears to be holding a blowtorch with both of his hands in his initial leak.
- His head model is a modified version of Archie’s and Kenneth’s head. Due to this, he has whiskers which klipspringers don’t have. This doesn’t apply to his alternate skin and his appearance in the Hello, Employee teaser, where he lacks them. Since he was modeled by MiniToon whereas in the Hello, Employee teaser, he was modeled by KaiuDex, it is possible that the latter may have acknowledged the error when modelling him.
- The soundtrack for the second part of the ending cutscene of Docks is named after him. This soundtrack is also the theme for his skin counterpart.
- In Temple, Kona's note about the green pupil color is ironic, as his skin counterpart has the same pupil color as what Kona wrote.
- Kona is revealed to know about the Lonesome Wayfarer in the Season 6 Journal Entry.
- His last name is also revealed to be "Klip" as his journal entry is signed "K. Klip".
- When designing Kona, MiniToon couldn't decide whether he should make his clothes blue or red, but ultimately ended up making them red due to the lack of characters with red outfits in the game.[2]
- Coincidentally, Kona wears a blue uniform in his appearance in the Hello, Employee teaser.
- In the Hello, Employee teaser, Kona speaks with an Australian accent.
- MiniToon is the voice of Kona in the Hello, Employee teaser.
- This also makes him the fourth character to have a voice, with the first being Silzous, the second being TIO, the third being Ryder Page, and the rest being Harry, Mudson, and other characters in Regarding the Rumors.
