Outpost Echo is a military outpost located in Doveport, north of Kona’s house. It is the place that Camp and Lab take place in. It is presumably the outpost seen in the Piggy: Book 2 Trailer. We also get a glimpse of it in Temple.

History

Manufacturing a Cure

During the infection, the military moved to their bases up north as part of an evacuation, one of these being Outpost Echo. The government was urgently looking for a cure to the infection, and needed subjects from the original Substance - 128 testing. While they wanted to find the original Patient Zero, they did not manage to locate them. However, they did find one of the other subjects, Penny Piggy. After extensive research, they created a working cure.

Waiting For a Signal

While The Safe Place were making their way to the outpost, a significant amount of insolent infected (the ones with the orange eyes) appeared in Doveport. In response, the military deployed bombing runs over Doveport to thin out the hordes of infected near their outpost. The bombing runs showed little effectiveness and the infected managed to breach the outpost's walls. Backup was supposed to show up when the infected attacked, but all the soldiers stationed at the outpost got infected before they could manage to send a signal to the government.

Hunt for a Cure

During the Safe Place's journey towards Outpost Echo, Kona contacted Mimi by radio, stating that the outpost had been silent for a while, suggesting something happened to the soldiers. They made their way into the compound and and into the laboratory underneath the outpost. They find Tigry, planting explosive charges around the facility. Willow and Tigry got into an argument which eventually developed into a fight. During their fight, one of Tigry's charges detonated, causing rubble to fall, blocking their path. The Player got trapped in a small part of the hallway with only one doorway out as a result.

Tigry-Savior Ending

The Player, with nowhere left to go, goes through the door. They encounter Penny, distorted beyond recognition. After activating the auxiliary power and opening the cure room, they find Willow and Tigry fighting. They help settle the fight, aiding Tigry. After beating Willow, Tigry thanks the Player for helping and lets them take the cure. After making their way back to the main hallway, Pony tells the two that the rest of the group probably left and that the elevator cart is not on the floor. Their conversation is interrupted by the sound of Tigry's charges detonating. The group rushes towards the elevator. Tigry gets trapped behind a pile of rubble along with the cure. The other 2 continues on but get trapped in the lab. Pony tells the Player that he got infected at the Docks and he doesn't have much time left. The Player is distraught. Pony says his final goodbyes to The Player. TIO appears and the Player walks towards him.

Tigry-Survivor Ending

The Player, with nowhere left to go, goes through the door. They encounter Penny, distorted beyond recognition. After activating the auxiliary power and opening the cure room, they find Willow and Tigry fighting. They help settle the fight, aiding Tigry. After beating Willow, Tigry thanks the Player for helping and lets them take the cure. At the surface, the Player gets scratched by an infected. Pony shoots at it with Willow's gun, stating that they're both infected. Feeling he has no time left, he admits that he gave the potion to Doggy. The Player is confused and distraught. Pony tells them to go and use the potion. Saddened, the Player follows Pony's orders after wishing him a final goodbye.

Willow-Savior Ending

The Player, with nowhere left to go, goes through the door. They encounter Penny, distorted beyond recognition. After activating the auxiliary power and opening the cure room, they find Willow and Tigry fighting. They help settle the fight, aiding Willow. After beating Tigry, Willow give the player a reluctant thanks and takes the cure. After reaching the surface, they see Pony. Pony tells the player that he got infected at the Docks. The Player, confused and distraught, suggests that Willow could cure him. Pony says that she wouldn't come back. Willow reluctantly gives him the cure and Pony reluctantly takes it. The rest of the group shows up saying that they went back to the factory to bring Giraffy. They decide to stay in Doveport to help Kona with his research.

Willow-Survivor Ending

The Player, with nowhere left to go, goes through the door. They encounter Penny, distorted beyond recognition. After activating the auxiliary power and opening the cure room, they find Willow and Tigry fighting. After beating Tigry, Willow give the player a reluctant thanks and takes the cure. After reaching the surface, they see Pony. Pony tells the player that he got infected at the Docks. The Player, confused and distraught, suggests that Willow could cure him. Pony says that she wouldn't come back. The Player says their final goodbye and walk away.

Hidden Ending

The Player, with nowhere left to go, goes through the door. They encounter Penny, distorted beyond recognition. After activating the auxiliary power and opening the cure room, they find Willow and Tigry fighting. The Player breaks up the fight, telling them that their fighting is only destroying them. This snaps them out of their rage. Mimi informs them that something is happening at the surface and they return to the surface with the cure. They meet Sgt. Monroe who came after hearing a distress call over the radio from Mimi. After fighting some insolent infected and defeating TIO, Sgt. Monroe brings the group (excluding Willow and Tigry) back to Lucella.

Trivia

• The model of the original Outpost Echo presumably got scrapped and was used only for the trailer, as Camp got an entirely new model.
