Book Description[]
Brave the terrifying world of PIGGY in this official illustrated novel based on the hit ROBLOX game!
Diego was separated from his family in the early days of the Infection. Since then, he has moved from town to town, and place to place -- getting by as best as he can. Recently, he has met and joined up with a motley crew of other survivors. After an encounter with a pack of the Infected, their numbers begin to dwindle as members of the group begin to disappear in mysterious and macabre ways. It soon becomes clear that not everyone in the group is telling the whole truth.
Can Diego and his new friends discover the traitor amongst them before it's too late?
Plot[]
Diego Alvarez was one of the less fortunate survivors of the infection, being separated from his family, having to fend on his own. He finds a local grocery store closed and boarded up, and breaks in using a shovel to get some food. As Diego grabs a cart and begins filling it up with food, the power goes out, with Diego not being able to see anything. He decides to try and make his way to the exit, when he hears two voices talking. Diego, scared that these people might have gone a little stir crazy during the infection, instinctively hits one of them with his shovel.
Fortunately, they are okay, and were just caught off guard. The person is revealed to be named Terry, with his friend being named Lucy. Lucy scolds Diego as he's apparently thrown off their "plan", as the store's backup generator kicks on. As it does, the infected start wandering over to the store, looking for survivors. As they make their way in, they also begin helping themselves to food they can find. Lucy then finds out that Diego is out here all alone. As she does, the infected run out of food and start looking for more, leaving the two unable to speak, only able to communicate via peace signs. As they wander around the store, Lucy eventually asks what Diego's story is.
Diego states he doesn’t really have a story, to which Lucy replies that “everybody has to have a story”. She explains that she was a reporter before the infection, and that she was trying to find out where the infected originated. After this, the group head to their Safe Place: A gallery.
As the trio walk in, they are greeted by Danny, a former military officer. Lucy introduces Diego to Sylvester, Rita, and Foley. The group sit down, eat some dinner, talk, when the lights go out. When they turn back on, Sylvester is gone, with only scratch marks remaining. The group tries to figure out what happened, when Diego suggests they go look for the legendary "Safe Place", if it even exists. They agree and head out to look for it.
Shortly after this, an army of infected appears and forces the group to take shelter in a nearby mall. With nothing better to do, the group decide to head to the nearby Aye-Aye Arcade and play some games. A while after this, the infected make their way into the mall.
