Peter is a character in Piggy: Book 2 and the father of Pony. Peter is mentioned for the first time by Pony in the ending cutscene of City - Chapter 9, where it is revealed that he is an optometrist and that Pony wanted to follow in his footsteps. Peter is mentioned again in Pony's journal in The Safe Place - Chapter 4, where Pony says that he misses his mother and father. The hallucination of his infected self appears in the Hidden Ending, which is also his only on-screen appearance.
Appearance
Peter resembles his son, but he has white eyebrows, implying that he's an elder. He wears a white shirt with a dark brown, plaid jacket, a red bow tie on his neck, a black fedora between his ears, dark blue jeans and black shoes. His left arm, in contrast to his right one, is black. His eyes have black sclerae and yellow pupils.
History
Family life
Peter was a pony that lived in Evalia, where he worked as an optometrist. At some point, Peter married Pony's mother, and she would later give birth to Pony, even presumably spending time with him inside a restaurant during a Christmas night. As revealed in City - Chapter 9, Pony told the Player that he wanted to follow his father's footsteps and become an optometrist just like him, though it appears that his ambitions were thwarted by the sudden outbreak of the infection.
Pony's Guilt
At some point during the infection, Pony wrote down in his journal he missed his parents. In it, he also expressed his guilt for what he had done but promised to make things better. The guilt is likely due to having been forced to infect Doggy as suggested by Pony's dialogues from Lab.
Attacking Pony
In the Hidden Ending, TIO creates an infected hallucination of Peter to haunt and attack Pony at the hotel in the City. The Player is able to give Pony his wooden sword, which allows him to stop Peter from attacking him. Peter then disappears.
Trivia
- His name was revealed in the game files.
- His yellow pupils signified that he helped his community before the infection.
- He is the third character to have gray eyebrows, with the first being the Unknown Elephant, the second being Sgt. Monroe, the fourth being Tigry's father and the fifth being Eddy.
- Peter and Tigry's father both wear a white shirt and a brown plaid jacket.
- MiniToon has jokingly said that Peter isn't very good at naming kids, indicating that Peter was the one who named Pony.
