Pupil Colors, also known as infected eye colors, are the colors of the infected individual's pupils. The pupil color hints what that individual was like in their uninfected life, and the concept was first mentioned by MiniToon in one of the Fun Piggy Facts tweet as an important detail to the storyline of Piggy.

Basic Information

According to MiniToon, the pupil colors indicate something about the character's personality prior to the infection.

Information about pupil colors is relatively inconclusive as MiniToon has only fully revealed the meaning of two colors.

There are some exceptions to this rule like Robby (because of it being a robot), joke skins like Pickle Rick, skins with no eyes like Blatt or skins with pupil colors made to match their appearance (such as Russo, Sabrina and DJ).

An eye color meaning needs to originate from a source coming from:

1. A Piggy Developer (MiniToon, etc.)
2. The Official Piggy Discord server.
3. The base game, through a note, dialogue, etc.

Color Meanings

There are currently eight accepted pupil colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, and black) and six sclera colors (black, white, red, blue, green and gold).

1. Red: Unknown
2. Orange: Generally unknown, but it is confirmed that they can travel large distances almost instantly and usually travel in groups (Confirmed in a note written by Kona).
3. Yellow: The character helped their community before the infection (Confirmed in a tweet from MiniToon).
4. Green: The character was very independent before the infection (Confirmed in a note written by Kona).
5. Blue: Unknown
6. Dark Blue: Unknown
7. Purple: Unknown
8. White: Unknown
9. Black (Orange Iris): They are related to the Insolence in some way and they can travel large distances almost instantly and usually travel in groups (Confirmed in a note written by Kona).
10. Black (White Glowing Sclera): Unknown
11. Black (Red Iris): Unknown

Trivia

• MiniToon confirmed in an interview that we currently have enough info on each pupil color to make accurate guesses.
  • He also confirmed Friend's and Umbra's white glowing eyes have a different meaning from other infected creatures with a regular white pupil.
    • This makes sense as Friend and Umbra have white sclera instead of white pupils, which are confirmed to mean something else.
• Piggy (Distorted), Kamosi (Alternate), Katie (Alternate), Kona (Mad Scientist) and Sheepy (Scientist) are the only skins to have a different pupil color than their original counterparts.
• Before the redesigns the infected Doggy bot in Forest had a red pupil in it's left eye, but the skin had a yellow pupil.
• MiniToon stated that one of the chapters in Piggy: Book 2 prior to Temple "really gives away" some of the pupil colors' meanings.
  • This chapter is almost certainly Ship, as it's the only chapter up until that point with multiple infected, which is how it'd give away some pupil color meanings. Notes around the map seemingly hint at the meanings for white and red pupils.
    • Kenneth, who has white pupils, is stated to take the safety of others very seriously, and seals himself in the ship so Budgey can survive. This may hint at white pupils being related to selflessness. This is potentially strengthened by Giraffy, who takes a bullet for Pony in Sewers, and Bunny, who stays by Anonymous User's side in Hospital, even at risk of them becoming infected.
    • Bobby, who has red pupils, is stated to be concerned about his family. This may hint that red pupils are related to caring about people in some way. This is potentially strengthened by other characters with confirmed family members having red pupils, such as Willow, who cares about her brother, Zizzy, who cares about her sisters and presumably Pony, and Mrs. P, who cares about Mr. P.
    • It should be noted that although these are the likely solutions, they are not 100% confirmed.
• Mr. P states that Mrs. P has red eyes in the True Ending. This was confirmed to be true when the Bittersweet quest came out.
