Sergeant Monroe, often abbreviated as Sgt. Monroe, is a character in Piggy: Book 2. He is a military sergeant who came by with a military helicopter to retrieve the cure through a distress signal reported in Outpost Echo by the Safe Place members. He reappears in Breakout as a minor character.

Physical Appearance

Monroe is a black mole who has a white snout, a pink nose, two dark pinkish-red nostrils, two gray eyebrows and three short white whiskers on each side of his nose. He wears a rust red beret with a matching scarf. His pants are white and he wears black boots. He also wears a bulletproof military equipment vest with a holstered belt with a white and black backpack.

Generally the same appearance, but his uniform is green instead of white. He also no longer has a backpack, nor does he have the gray torso plate.

History

Working in the Military

At some point before the infection, Monroe joined the military. Tigry and Danny then enlisted and worked under Monroe for some time.

Fighting in a War

Monroe fought in a war between the military and some unnamed enemies with Tigry and Danny. After Tigry left the military, Monroe called him a deserter.

Locating the Cure

When Monroe heard a distress call sent by the Safe Place members taking the cure, he and two other soldiers went to them by military helicopter to assist them. As they arrived at Outpost Echo, Markus, Elly, Alfis, Kolie, and the soldiers from the camp (with the exception of Daisy and Delta) rose from the ground and started to attack them so they prepared their weapons to fight them. After Willow and Tigry's talk, he told the rest of the Safe Place members to hop on board the military helicopter. Presumably, Monroe then takes the members to pick up Giraffy, and then back to Kona's home.

Trivia

• Sgt. Monroe is one of the few characters with gray eyebrows, the others being the Unknown Elephant, Peter, Tigry's Father and Eddy.
• He is the only mole character that doesn't have a skin counterpart unlike Mimi and Carver.
