The Safe Place is the fourth chapter of Piggy: Book 2 and the sixteenth chapter overall. Raze is the canonical bot for this map. This chapter introduces the player to new mechanics, with items such as the blowtorch, the elevator key, and new events such as the blowtorch door. The Safe Place is considered to be the largest map in the whole Piggy game. Giraffy is a friendly NPC of this map and will stun Piggy for 20 seconds if given grass. The skins added along with this chapter are Raze and Felix.

Appearance

It takes place in a five-story hotel referred to as the Safe Place with six bedrooms, five storage rooms, a laundry room, a gym, a cafeteria, a main room, a radio room, and many hallways.

Storyline

After the events of the Refinery, the Player is sleeping in their bed in The Safe Place. Suddenly, they are woken up by an explosion. Georgie tells them that they need to get out. Although they're chased by Raze, the Player manages to escape the Safe Place, rescuing Mimi, Pony, and Giraffy in the process, while Zee and Zuzy had already escaped through the vents. After the Player and the rest of the Safe Place residents escape, they find themselves confronted by Willow and the rest of The Silver Paw (excluding Tigry). Willow tells them that after the Player and Pony broke into the Refinery, all of the members there had to be relocated. After the confrontation, Willow orders Filip and Kitty to capture all the residents, despite the fact that Georgie, Mimi and Giraffy did nothing. The Silver Paw brings the residents to the factory and locks them in one of its jail cells. Giraffy and Mimi apologize to Pony for not listening to him telling him to not trust the radio, and Pony forgives them, afterwards saying that they need to find a way to get out.

Anonymous User: "W... What was that sound? What's going on?!"

Georgie: "I don't know what that sound was, but I don't want to stick around to find out!"

(Sounds of explosions)

(When Anonymous User saves Giraffy)

Giraffy: "Hey, thanks for letting me out, Anonymous User! If you find any grass, bring it and I'll take out anything bothering you!"

(When Anonymous User saves Pony)

Pony: "Anonymous User! I owe you a carrot sometime. Is everyone okay?"

(When Pony goes up to check on Zee and Zuzy's room)

Pony: "Huh, Zee and Zuzy aren't here. They must've used the vent up there, but it's sealed now. I hope they're safe..."

Pony (secret dialogue, 1 in a 100 chance) : "The Insolence watches... huh? What'd I just say? A strange voice just came into my head, but I don't remember what it told me."

(When Anonymous User saves Mimi)

Mimi: "Thanks for rescuing me! Now, I just need my blowtorch to fry the main entrance lock which... oh shoot. It's in this safe."

Mimi (Alternate Dialogue): "Thanks, Anonymous User! Think you can help me find my key for this safe? What's inside will help us get out of here!"

Mimi: "Awesome! I hope what I can do is enough to pay you back for saving me!"

Mimi "(Alternate Dialogue): Perfect, I'll get to work when I can!"

(Shows T.S.P., and Baren holding a bazooka)

Willow: "Rise and shine! Looks like we managed to get you out of bed!"

Willow: "I've been told that some of you caused quite a stir at one of our outposts."

Pony: "How could you do this to us, Willow? You're destroying the home of many innocent people!"

Willow: "And you really think you didn't do the same? How cute. The refinery was the home of many people, Pony."

Willow: "You, the sleazy cop and that zebra have caused many relocations. We can't afford to feed them all in one place."

Georgie: "Leave him alone! You took Zizzy away from us!"

Willow: "Listen, kid. As much as I'd like to defend your friends' actions, they've done some horrible things to my people."

Willow: "Take them with us. We'll keep them all in one place where we can control what they do."

Giraffy: "You can't do this to us, we haven't done anything!'

Willow: "And we'll make sure it stays that way."

(T.S.P. then kidnaps the group and puts them into a cell)

Willow: "You'll all be staying in there until you either cooperate or wear out. I'll be looking forward to talking to you soon!"

Giraffy: "Pony, we owe you an apology."

Pony: "What for?"

Mimi: "We shouldn't have met with the group. You were right to be suspicious of it.. we were wrong."

Giraffy: "We're sorry."

Pony: "Sigh... I forgive you. Now, we just need to find a way out somehow..."

Events

This map was one of the maps necessary to be played for Egg Hunt event to get the Bess skin, which can't be obtained anymore. The Safe Place had two eggs in it:

• The blue egg is in the lowest floor with the exit door, beside one of the pillars.
• The pink granite egg is on the roof in one of the elevators, specifically the one in the radio room, which requires the elevator key to be used in the red key room which is the cafeteria.

Trivia

• It is unknown how Raze spawns in Zizzy's room, though this could simply be for gameplay reasons.
• This chapter was delayed by about 2 weeks, due to the game running two events at once: Ready Player Two Event and the RB Battles Event.
• This chapter is the third to last chapter to have a main bot that knows where the players are at all times, as Sewers' bot, Alfis, acts differently. Winter Holiday is the second to last chapter to have a main bot that knows where the players are at all times and RB Battles Spaceship is the last map to have main bots that do the same.
  • Lab has secondary bots in the second phase and the Hidden Ending that always know where players are, the Sentinels.
• This map is the first time grass is given to NPCs other than Zizzy; in this case, Giraffy needs grass to knock out the Infected for 20 seconds.
• On the selection notice and badge name, this map is referred to as "Safe Place" rather than "The Safe Place".
  • Though this is probably just due to how much space the full name would take up in the voting icon and badge name.
• This is the only map with an official name that has three words in its name.
• Strangely, Zizzy's foil is missing from the display case despite her not taking it with her in Store's ending cutscene.
• Zuzy's diary shows her messy handwriting and poor spelling. In contrast, Zee's diary shows her clean handwriting and good spelling.
• In Mimi’s room, you can see some books, one of which labeled 'Optics', a saw blade, some wooden boards, a wielding mask, and an eyepiece with lenses.
• Pony's room seems to contain a reference to his old appearance. On his shelf, there are a set of yellow shirts, similar to Pony's yellow shirt that he originally wore.
• In the laundry room, you can see blue, purple, and orange pieces of clothing on a table. You can also see a green piece of clothing inside of a washing machine.
• This is the first map to have an elevator that can be interacted with.
• You do not need to use the Green Key (unless the Elevator Key spawns in the green room which is needed to get the Yellow Key) and Orange keys to escape; those are optional.
  • These doors also have Pony and Giraffy trapped behind them, so it's possible to abandon both Pony and Giraffy, but they still appear in the ending cutscene.
• The Hammer makes its first Book 2 appearance in this chapter.
• At the spawn area, the picture of Poley and Doggy from the end credits of Book 1 can be seen on the wall. A police hat and a police uniform can be seen in the spawn area as well, this is because the Player was a police officer before the Infection and the spawn area is their and Georgie's room.
• When Pony enters the twins' room, there is a really small chance his dialogue will be "The Insolence watches... huh? What'd I just say? A strange voice just came into my head, but I don't remember what it told me."
• This is the only Book 2 map to be seen in Book 1.
• The Player's Journal about City confirms that The Safe Place is a hotel.
• This map is MiniToon's least favorite Book 2 map. He has thought of adding more ways to get between floors, such as new staircases or elevators, since that would make the map better. If he decided to make these changes, they would come after the end of Book 2.
  • These changes have not been made yet and likely never will as MiniToon has stated the main game won't be receiving anymore updates apart from Build Mode.
• Giraffy is currently bugged. If you open the orange door, Giraffy falls through the floor and lands on the floor below him.
  • This is also the case for Pony, if you open the green door, Pony falls inside the floor and sometimes falls all the way through the floor if the cafeteria is already unlocked.
• In the Intercity Demo, the elevator cart in Safe Place is present on every floor at the same time which is contrary to how elevators work. This is likely just a result of copying and pasting the map from the original game where it never looks like such since the cart is only visible on one floor at a time.
• This is the first Book 2 map to have the Fire event.
• This map appears in seven chapter endings being City, Mall, Alleys, Store, Refinery, The Safe Place, and Heist.
• MiniToon originally wanted to make the chapter that you would have to go between buildings that were in ruins but due to time constraint reasons he went with only one.
• 1.6M people own the “Completed Safe Place” badge as of March 6th, 2025.
