"Hey, Willow... you're one of the only animals to ever have reached their paw out to me. Why?"
― Tigry, Breakout

Tigry is the overall secondary antagonist of Piggy, serving as the secondary antagonist of the first half of Book 2, the primary antagonist of Refinery - Chapter 3, the morally gray main antagonist of the second half, and the main protagonist of Breakout. He is a former member of The Silver Paw who searches for the cure to help an old friend of his, presumably Rash. Despite being one of the major antagonists in the story, he is mostly nice to the Player and everyone else, except Willow, towards whom he held a deep grudge and later reconnected with.

Physical Appearance[]

Currently, from Docks to Lab, Tigry is a orange-slightly yellow tiger with black ears with white inside, an orange-white snout with short, white whiskers, a black smooth triangular nose, two eyebrows, and three black stripes covering the back and sides of his face. Although he retains pants and beret that were part of his T.S.P. uniform, he now also wears a white shirt, dark gray jacket, black gloves and a royal purple scarf.

When he joined The Silver Paw, he wore a gray shirt, blackish-blue pants and a blackish-blue beret with openings for his ears.

In his past casual outfit, he had a black marking on his right shoulder, and he wears a purple t-shirt. Finally, he wears dark blue shorts and black boots.

He is a yellowish-orange tiger with three black stripes on each side of his face, dark brown cheeks, white snout, black, triangular nose with white whiskers on each side of it, black, triangular ears with white inside and a tiger tail with black stripes. His right shoulder and left hand are black. Before he joined The Silver Paw, he wore a royal purple t-shirt with no sleeve on his left arm and blackish-blue pants.

He looks the same as in his casual design, but is the same height as Georgie, Zee and Zuzy, larger pupils and a sleeve on his right arm.

He wears a maroonish grey t-shirt, and he sports black gloves on his hands. He also wears olivish grey pants.

He wears a helmet which he later ditched, a green army suit with black spots, and he sports black gloves on his hands. He also wears a dark green scarf, dark green pants, and black boots.

History[]

Early Life[]

Tigry was a tiger who lived in Lucella. His family wasn’t really doing good economically as his parents couldn’t afford going to the carnival. During his early years at school, he was bullied by Leon, Wally and Dane. At home, his parents were never truly proud of him at all, considering Tigry to be a disappointment or a failure, despite Tigry's achievements. His mom never paid much attention to him, while his dad was harsher, hitting Tigry if he bothered him. Overall, Tigry lived in an environment where everyone underestimated him and belittled him as nothing.

Joining the Military[]

Seeing how horrible his life was, Tigry ran away from home. While traveling alone, he saw a recruitment poster for the military. Seeking purpose, Tigry enlisted in the military and was trained by Sgt. Monroe, eventually fighting on the front lines with other soldiers, including Danny.

TIO's Illusion[]

Main article: Breakout

During one of the missions in which Tigry and Danny were ordered to infiltrate the enemy's base, the ground beneath Tigry's feet caved in and he fell inside the enemy's basement, with Danny promising to find the way to him. While Tigry was exploring the basement, TIO clouded his mind and made him see a monster called Ombra instead of Danny. After a long pursuit, Tigry had enough and decided to kill the supposed monster, so he unlocked the armory, grabbed a knife and stabbed the monster with it. It is only then that his illusion disappeared. Tigry stepped back, shocked and realized that he just killed one of his allies. After that traumatic experience, Tigry deserted the Military.

Wandering the Streets[]

Tigry, later after deserting the military found himself alone in the streets presumably of Lucella where he took refuge in an abandoned area of a metro station leaving his stuff as military clothes and bed behind for an unknown reason to later roam among the streets again to then meet Rash becoming friends with him before Rash subsequently gets arrested sometime later, resulting in him being alone once again. [1]

Recruited by The Silver Paw[]

Tigry was found by Willow on the streets of alleys, sitting near a fire to get warm. Willow took pity on him and offered him to join her new group. He later went to the river with Willow to find Pony, whom Willow later recruited as well, since he was her friend and helped her in a heist some time ago. When Tigry was in The Silver Paw, nobody really liked him and they bossed him around throughout the scavenges with them also thinking he was unsettling as someone wrote a note about him while they were at the store in one hunt and he never got a chance to prove himself.

Foxy's Punishment[]

Foxy, one member of The Silver Paw, presumably started becoming disobedient, angering Willow so The Silver Paw decided to "relocate" him. They brought Foxy to the carnival and locked him inside the cage to get infected. Before they left, they wrote a note: "DO NOT OPEN, MONSTER INSIDE." in front of Foxy's cage as well as: "Doggy and Foxy got what was coming to them." and "For those looking for safety: this is the worst place to look." Bewildered, Foxy wrote a note inside his cage: "Why did my friends leave me in here...?" before he got infected.

Kidnapping Zizzy[]

Tigry, along with Kitty, Pandy, Willow and Baren all cornered Zizzy, Pony and the Player at the Old Oak after tricking them into thinking that they were going to meet friendly survivors to trade. Willow started talking about some of her past and how Pony was an ex-member of The Silver Paw. Once they took Zizzy, they locked her in a cell being heavy guarded by The Silver Paw. Tigry, trying to prove himself useful to the others, tried to catch Pony and the Player who managed to break into the Refinery and evade the guards, including Tigry, and opened to cell to save Zizzy. Tigry later presumably left the Refinery and headed towards the Factory, since in the ending cutscene of The Safe Place, he is the only member of The Silver Paw who is not present.

Betraying The Silver Paw[]

Sometime in the Factory, Tigry suspected Willow was hiding something which he later found out was a way to get the cure then decided to go on his own path. Later When the Safe Place members escaped their jail cell, Tigry spotted them and decided to lift his arm up to throw one of his daggers at them, but decided it was not worth it. Willow saw him hesitate and pushed him aside, calling him "useless tiger", and shot Pony, only for Giraffy to save him by jumping in front of a bullet. Tigry then stole the key of Willow's tugboat and saw the Safe Place free The Silver Paw members. Once Willow, the Safe Place members and The Silver Paw members made it outside, Willow was about to shoot the Player, but Tigry disarmed her by throwing his dagger at Willow's revolver. He then headed for her tugboat at a Port in Amberdale and departed.

Finding a Cure[]

When they arrived to the Docks, Willow saw that Tigry had beaten them to it. After heading to the exit, the Player saw Tigry (who got dressed in more winter-appropriate clothes) crossing a platform. Tigry revealed to the Player that he is looking for the cure to save an old friend of his. Tigry said that he remembers the Player, and hunted them in the Refinery because he was told to, and apologized for not thinking twice. After a brief chat, Tigry found out that Willow is helping the Player's team, and offered to help them if they ditch Willow. However, the Player refused, saying that they cannot trust Tigry either. Tigry then left, still keeping his offer open to the Player.

After the group split up to find the cure in the Lab, Willow encountered Tigry placing explosives. Tigry and Willow then started to argue about the past until they decided to fight it out. However, Willow overpowered Tigry, and tried to knock him out by suffocating him by gripping his neck. Tigry nearly passed out, but Willow became distracted by the roof collapsing on them, separating her and Tigry from the Player.

Battle with Willow (Both Willow Endings)[]

Tigry's final duel with Willow is in the second phase of the lab, when the Player starts hallucinating. The Player gives a water gun, a mop and a pipe to Willow, which she uses to attack Tigry and knock him out, leaving him in the lab.

Battle with Willow (Both Tigry Endings)[]

Tigry's final duel with Willow is in the second phase of the lab, when the Player starts hallucinating. The Player gives a water gun, a mop and a pipe to Tigry, which he uses to attack Willow and knock her out, leaving her in the lab. Tigry hands the cure over to the Player, telling him that it's a repayment for the Player's help in a duel with Willow. In Tigry - Survivor Ending, Tigry reveals to the Player that coming to the Lab made him realize that he prefers travelling alone, though, he is sure the two will cross paths again, and he leaves.

In the Savior Ending, the Player and Tigry find Pony, with Tigry holding the cure. Suddenly, his charges go off, but as they decide to run, some rubble falls off the roof, separating Tigry from others. To make matters worse, some rubble also falls down in front of an elevator, trapping the Player and Pony. Pony reveals to the Player that he is going to become infected, since he was attacked by Markus at Docks. The Player tries to convince Pony to move on, but Pony tells them that they can't do anything to prevent this. The Player forgives Pony for everything they ever did. Suddenly, TIO appears, and the Player accepts his offer.

Traveling with Willow (Hidden Ending)[]

After Willow (presumably) won their duel, Tigry and Willow have a conversation and make up. This interaction is interrupted, however, with Mimi saying that a military copter is landing. After an introduction with Sgt. Monroe, and a fight with TIO, Willow apologizes to Tigry for mistreating him, and he forgives her. Willow then suggests that they both travel together. They then go back to the Alleys and (presumably) remiss. In ending cutscene of Breakout, as they travel after the events of Lab, Tigry sees the same Military ad poster that got him to join in the first place, now faded on the ground, bringing back his memories. Willow tells Tigry that he looks as if he has seen a ghost, which Tigry answers saying it could be true. Willow then tells Tigry to not let his past actions get under his skin, to which he replies that he doesn't want to end up like her, only for Willow to reply to him that she seems to be doing a much better job keeping herself together than him. Tigry then asks her why she had helped him back in the alleys, to which she replies that she simply felt like it. When he asks her if she is sure about that, she tells him that she doesn't like seeing another animal suffering alone, then tells him to forget what she just said, as it sounds corny. When he tells her that he will ask her until she gives him the real answer, she tells him that she will push him in a nearby bush if he pushes his luck, whereupon their conversation stops. In credits of hidden ending, Tigry and Willow travelled back to Lucella and can be seen at Tigry's old fire in Alleys, conversing. They later visited the Refinery to presumably relive memories and are seen much happier as their friendship keeps growing, though it is generally unknown if this happened before or after Breakout's events.

Personality[]

Tigry is first shown to be quiet, calm and reserved. In reality he was suffering from insecurities and anxiety from being belittled and looked down on by his family and peers. Tigry always constantly attempts to prove that he is worth more than how he is perceived. As a child, Tigry was always optimistic and tries to prove himself, even though no one cared about him, until he gets tired of trying and runs away. Tigry then enlisted in the military as an opportunity to turn his life around, though he later left due to accidentally killing his friend, Danny, thinking that he was a monster who was after him due to experiencing hallucinations. It's clear that he was traumatized after the incident, and felt guilty for what he'd done. When he first met Willow, he was scared of her at first. Before long, though, the two were close, and Tigry finally had someone to talk to, someone that would listen, however Willow would suddenly change her attitude towards him, being intimidating and bossing him around, and the two went on bad terms. Even T.S.P didn't like him, bossing him around, and he got anxiety because of it. Tigry missed Rash dearly when he gets infected, presumably even going out of his way to get the cure for him. After all that he endured, Tigry finally gets enough courage and soon chooses to stand up for himself and follow his own path, first by choosing not to stop The Safe Place group from leaving in the ending of Sewers, then taking Willow's key to her tugboat in order to travel to Doveport to get the cure for himself. Once again, he tries to show that he is more than what is seen of him, especially to Willow, by fighting her. In the Hidden Ending, after the Player stops Willow and Tigry from fighting, Tigry tells Willow that he wants things to go back to the way before, a time where they were friends, since he's tired of fighting for so long. In the ending, Willow apologizes to Tigry for mistreating him. Tigry forgives her, saying that he's giving her another chance since she's family, and the two reconcile and travel together. In the credits, the two are seen talking by the old campfire in the Alleys, seeing that they have rekindled their friendship.

When Willow encountered Tigry for the first time, he was sitting near the fire in alleys, trying to get warm. She took pity on him and offered him to join her. The two then found Pony and recruited him to The Silver Paw. Later, however, according to Tigry, Willow completely changed her attitude towards him. She began to mistreat him and boss him around. This went so bad to the point that Tigry started not talking much and trying to prove his worth to his team. Even after he tried to catch the Player, he was still not appreciated, so he started to think about deserting The Sliver Paw and go to Willow's office. When he saw that the Safe Place members are escaping, he tried to throw one of his daggers at them, but decided not to do it. Willow then showed up, calling him "Useless Tiger", pushing him aside and shooting at Pony, only for Giraffy to jump in front of a bullet. At this point, Tigry couldn't take it anymore, snuck into Willow's office and stole the key of her tugboat. Later, he showed up outside of the Factory and threw his dagger into Willow's revolver, knocking it out of her hands, when she tried to shoot the Player. He then stole Willow's tugboat and headed to Doverport. Eventually, he was found by Willow and the Player in the Lab while placing dynamite to stall their progress. Willow and Tigry then started to argue, with Tigry saying that she was a bully ever since he met her, but that he's not scared of her anymore. Offended, Willow asks him if this is his thanks for everything she did for him, and Tigry retorts that it's more than what she deserves. Then, Willow and Tigry start a fight in which Willow knocks him out by suffocating him, but one of Tigry's dynamites explodes, making the rubble collapse between the two and the Player.

In Willow endings, Willow defeats Tigry with the Player's help, but feels bad for how she treated him and leaves a note saying "I'm sorry." on Tigry's old fire. In Tigry endings, however, Tigry manages to defeat Willow with the Player's help. In Hidden ending, when Willow stands above Tigry, the Player stops them from fighting before Mimi tells everyone to go outside, where they meet Sgt. Monroe. After the attack of the infected and the defeat of TIO, Willow apologizes to Tigry for mistreating him, and he forgives her. She then suggests him that they travel together and even offers Tigry to lead this time. Tigry refuses this, saying that he only wants to have a say. In the ending cutscene, Tigry and Willow are seen talking to each other about at his old fire.

The Safe Place Group Before the Infection: Unknown

During the Infection: Neutral Late Book 2: Neutral

Tigry didn't have many relationships with the Safe Place and didn't impose any hate on them. There is no known implication that he ever hated Pony (in fact, the only known time he had any real interaction with him is when he and Willow asked him to join The Silver Paw). The only thing is that he chased the Player in Refinery - Chapter 3, when trying to show his group that he wasn't useless and that he was about to throw his dagger towards the group in Sewers - Chapter 5. Rash Before the infection: Friends

During the infection: Unknown

According to the note in refinery written by Tigry, Rash was Tigry's only friend there. He also adds that they were a lot alike to one another. It is believed that Tigry is trying to find the cure for Rash specifically. Unknown
Sgt. Monroe Before the infection: Teammates

During the infection: Enemies (Minor antagonism)

Tigry used to be the member of the military, but he deserted, which made Sgt. Monroe angry. Later, when Sgt. Monroe went to Outpost Echo to rescue survivors, he was surprised to see Tigry and Willow there. He didn't want to let Tigry and Willow get inside the helicopter, but he didn't try to arrest them either. Unknown
Danny Before the infection: Teammates

During the infection: N/A

Tigry and Danny were comrades-in-arms and perhaps good friends. Sadly when they were on a mission to infiltrate the enemy camp and got separated due to Tigry falling into the basement, TIO casted an illusion on Tigry that caused him to believe that Danny is a monster trying to hunt him down. Eventually, Tigry was tired of running away, so he decided to kill the "monster". He unlocked weaponry, found a knife and chased the monster, eventually outrunning it and stabbing it in the back, thus killing it. It was only then that the illusion wore off and, upon seeing what he has done to his friend, fell to his knees and cried in remorse. After such a tragic experience, Tigry deserted the Military. Trivia[]

  • The majority of the Piggy community believed that Tigry was a mute character since he didn't say a single word in the first half of Piggy: Book 2.
    • This was until Docks, where it was revealed that Tigry can actually speak and they were his first quotes on the storyline.
  • As seen from a note from the Store, Tigry is said to have not talked when they were there.
  • The most likely reason why Tigry tries to capture the Player in Refinery is to prove to the rest of the T.S.P. members that he is useful himself, as mentioned he is trying to do in one of his notes.
  • Despite having a jumpscare sound when killing a player, he doesn't have an activation noise in Lab. This makes him one of the few helpful NPCs to lack an activation noise, the others being Bunny, Zee, Willow, Billy and Rash.
  • Tigry is friends with Rash due to a note in Refinery. It could also mean that Tigry has come to Doveport to obtain the cure to cure Rash's infection.
  • Tigry's parents treated him badly based on a note in Refinery and Breakout.
  • The beret and pants he is wearing at Docks is the same as the one he was wearing at Refinery, which could mean that the beret is his, or that he "stole" it.
    • That would explain why he was the only member of The Silver Paw to have that beret.
      • However, it is unknown why Willow allowed him to use it, since normally the uniform beret is gray instead of black, though it is likely just a part of the game.
  • With the Swarm update, his bot appearance in Refinery was changed to use the smooth plastic material for the head instead of glass.
  • MiniToon said he'd like to make a character-focused chapter about Tigry's past, presumably about how and why he deserted the military. This was done when Breakout came out.
  • In the entry for Factory in the Player's journal, there is a line saying: "The tiger walked by with a key on his side throwing a dagger to disarm Willow. He had probably seen us help his friends in need, and was tired of Willow." While the Player did correctly guess that Tigry was on bad terms with Willow, their guess that Tigry was relieved to see the rest of The Silver Paw safe is almost certainly false, as Tigry repeated several times in his notes that he was never on good terms with The Silver Paw. In one note, he even wrote: "I'm tired of being ignored and neglected. I'm sick of it. If they don't think I'm useful enough for them, then I'll be more useful against them."
  • His head was remodeled in Breakout. Ironically, the bot of Breakout, Ombra head model resembles Tigry's old head model.
  • In The Epic Update, Tigry's old model has been replaced with the Breakout remodel throughout the entire game, except for the Tigry (Adventurer) player model (briefly) and in the Piggy: Book 2 Credits for the Hidden Ending.
  • Tigry seems to be skilled with knives, as seen by how he can use dual daggers and a Military Knife.
  • When he is stunned, it won't say the default "Piggy is gone for 20 seconds". Instead, it will say "Tigry is gone for 20 seconds". The same thing happens with Doggy, Foxy, Grandmother, Mousy, Rash, Dessa, and Raze in their respective maps.
  • There's a small mistake with Tigry throughout the cutscenes in Book 2 as his arms and tail still are yellow as this might be a result of the decals not being changeable or Epic Tank only changed his head model to avoid breaking the game as a result of changing what’s already done.
  • Tigry's apparently leaves his helmet behind in Breakout, where it is nowhere to be seen, the reason is currently unknown.
  • Tigry’s scarf currently worn by him was given to him by Willow in the past as seen in Breakout.
    • This could mean that even if Tigry had a grudge against her, he still had a small soft spot for her presumably as he still wore a scarf she gave him despite the situation.
  • Tigry found refuge inside a room in one of the Metro stations and presumably left his military uniform behind along with his bed as seen in Decay.
  • It is generally unknown if the picture featured in Twas The Night Before Pigmas takes place before Breakout or after Breakout though it is presumably after Breakout, as the weather is snowy back at Lucella, while in Breakout it’s not covered in snow though even if it’s generally unknown where the scene in Breakout takes place. This is also backed up by the fact that the story during Book 2 takes place in November, presumably meaning this takes place sometime during December.
  • In the Twas The Night Before Pigmas teaser, Tigry’s model was slightly tweaked giving him eyelids. The same applies with Willow.
  • Tigry will kind of have a new outfit or appearance in the upcoming Piggy: Misfits game.
